Two very lucky and very dumb idiots. To wreck a Million buck Enzo Ferrari. Wonder what his insurance premium will be next year with that kind of payout.

I just saw this on the news, how stupid.

But it wasn't him driving. It was a mysterious German man who managed to get away straight after the accident. I'm not quite sure about this but did the car stop instantly or did it go down the road a couple of hundred meters - in two pieces - and then stop. If it stoped instantly that would probably give ones body a hell of a lot of G's and I bet no one would be able to run away straight after it.

Actually reports from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department now say the car was only going atleast 110 to 120mph. Not the 200mph reported earlier. Now if the car was going 200mph, id think the alleged passenger and driver wouldve been killed instantly.

Here's another link to this story... http://www.fox11.com/stories/news/crash_suspect.asp

He says a guy named Dietrich was driving and that he ran away after the crash. Do you believe him? Either way, that's the best million bucks spent I've seen all year.

An Enzo on the PCH. Big grin

That would be sweet indeed. Minus the tragic end of course.

Magnum told Robin that Higgins was driving.

Ya know...I believe that the driver seat in an Enzo is custom fitted for the owner. The real driver would have to be proportionately similar to the owner.

Well, Ferrari clearly did their homework with the safety engineering of the car! Very similar to an F1 accident, the rear section of the car detaches and the front crumples, but the "survival cell" carbon fibre box that contains the driver and passenger is unscathed. I bet once the legal issues are settled, the car is shipped directly to the Ferrari factory where it'll be analyzed for its crash performance... the article said the car was streetracing, who in their right mind would dragrace a Ferrari Enzo? Only way it'll lose is if the driver manages to get it airborne and hit a telephone pole, kinda like this. Idiot!

Saw this on the news this morning, the cops are growing more & more suspicious of whether 'Dietrich' existed or not. As the owner was over the limit with alcohol it seems that he may have been the driver but didn't want to admit it.

Apparently only one of the airbags went off (not sure which one) but this would imply that there was only one person in the car as I believe airbags don't deploy if there isn't anyone in that seat.

Man that car was a mess (but probably still worth a bit).

Not sure about the laws over there but over here, apparently if you drink drive, crash the car and get out of the car the police can't do you for drink driving!

Has anyone got pics??

The driver is Mr Stefan "Fat-Steffe" Eriksson, well-known mobster in Sweden,
with several long prisonterms for economical crimes.

The Ferrari seem to been not legally shipped to the US and it belongs to
Bank of Scotland (long nose to them), I wonder how long "Fat-Steffe" will
shake bars this time?

If the driver of in the Calif. crash was the Swedish national you describe, how in the hell did he get into the USA? If he is a person with a criminal record, he should have been on a 'no-fly' list and denied entry into the USA - period. I would suspect that once he has faced charges and if convicted, upon service of his sentence he will be given a one way trip back to Sweden and never allowed back into the USA. Then of course, there is the little matter of bank and the car's loss. I hope it was properly insured.

LTBEWR, well, Mr Mohammed Atta got his immigration papers renewed after he was dead.
As for "Fat-Steffe" I think UK is more likely, the bankruptcy of the UK computer-game company with losses of about 200 Million US$ surely got some fishy parts in it, than these cars.
He got a 10,5 year sentence for white collar crime in Sweden, probably served 6-7 years that´s the common practice here. More on

My dad sent me this today, apparently the owner of the Ferrari also order another identical one in addition to a Mercedes SLR. They found a magazine to a handgun near the car also, and Scotland Yard has reported one of the cars as being stolen.

 Sad
