Any Roc En Espanol Fans Here?

Tue Mar 07, 2006 12:44 pm

I need help identifying a song. It has Paulina Rubio, Julieta Venegas and two other idiots I don't know (I think it's two guys. It could be just one). The first two stanzas are sung by the guy(s), then Paulina sings one, then Julieta sings the last. Actually, the song is more Latin Pop that Roc en Espanol. At any rate, the help will be appreciated...

It's only one guy, he's called Coti Sorokin from Argentina.

The song is:

Coti Sorokin feat. Paulina Rubio/Julieta Venegas - Nada fue un error

Hope that helps.

Luis

Don't expect to see me around that much (if at all) -- the contact link should still work, though.

OMG

Make it STOPPPPPPP.

I'm fed up of that freaking song!

If you want something good from Coti Sorokin, look up "Pensando en vos"  Smile

Cheers! wave

Julieta Venegas

I love Julieta Venegas, yet it's the first time I hear about this song. I guess I should listen to Spanish radio more often! LOL...

That's my exact feeling when I hear Miranda - Don (Guitarra de Lolo). Monterrey's Radio DJ had some kind of love for that song when I visited Mexico in December.

Paulina Rubio... LOL. Don't tell Argentine teens that are 'rolingas' or 'ricoteros' that it is rock. Much less to the 'metaleros' or the 'anarquistas'...  Wink

Or the 'unders' or 'subtes'...

Many many times, what is rock in the rest of Latin America is 'pop' in Argentina. And quite a few times rock bands that are huge in the rest of the world, are quite polarizing in Argentina. Soda Stereo, Enanitos Verdes, Los Latigos, Miranda! (considered pop in Argentina, rock elsewhere), come to mind. Even Babasonicos...

How many times has that discussion come up at www.rock.com.ar forums??? Many. It's like the A v B / US vs EU discussions here.

I guess such divisions stem because Argentina has such a huge rock scene and the longest history (over four decades) of it, by far the largest non-english rock culture in the world. So that while the top Argentine bands are revered elsewhere in Latin America and many parts of Europe, they actually don't command a monolothic reverence in Argentina itself.

Gustavo Santaolalla, who in the 70s was head of Arco IRis, a GREAT symphonic-rock band with argentine country music tinges (folk), won an Oscar last sunday as well.

Hehehehe... It's a classic (when I had 15 years Big grin ) My favorite LP: "Donde se Habla"

Had to be great that concert in Berlin! I went to some of them, but in Spain.

Yes, please!

If you want some good Spanish Pop-Rock, you should look at Gabinete Galigari, La Union, Radio Futura, Heroes del Silencio... etc Or maybe Alaska i los Pegamoides, Joaquin sabina, Rosendo... Pata Negra (!!!!)... oh well, all this was done in the 80's and 90's, I feel I'm stuck in that era...
