Absolutely possible. I have a neutered male who pees inappropriately.

Yes, the pee will show up under black light.

You might want to figure out who is doing it and take them to the vet. Inappropriate peeing can indicate a urinary tract infection. If not, your vet can help you to figure out why the peeing is happening. Is the litter box clean? Some cats are fussy about their box and won't go in it if it's dirty.

Nature's Miracle is a great product that helps to clean up cat pee.

How fitting. Black light as previously suggested is right.

I would recommend Simple Solution. I've used both and SS works better (IMO) and is cheaper too.

My neighbour has a neutered male that likes to back up to my screen door in summer and spray into my house. I stalked him with garden hose in hand and sprayed him back, end of problem. The cat crosses to the other side of the road when he sees me now.

That stuff is brilliant!! Baking soda sprinkled onto a spot will help remove odor as well, and if you find that there's a spot that they soil frequently rub ornage peel on it. Apparently, cats can't stand the smell of citrus fruit.

But that bit about keeping the litter box clean...abosolutely. I have one who will NOT touch the litter box unless it's immaculate.

Hey Mirrodie,

There are several different reasons why a neutered male cat might spray. The overwhelming urge is usually sexual, having to do with marking territory and dominance. That's what is cut out (for lack of a better phrase) by neutering.

If a cat feels threatened by another cat, it might spray. This includes seeing another cat through a window (especially if it is an unneutered male.) Your kitties could be "protecting" the house.

Other reasons stated above are also possibilities.

I've found that a compound called OUT! Pet Stain Remover is very good at cleaning up urine, feces, and vomit stains (one of my cats has a hairball problem.) I get it at Wal-Mart, although it's not a store brand so it might be available at other locations. It sells for about $8.00 per 1/2 gallon.
Up, up and away!
