Who Will Be French President In 2007?

Fri Mar 10, 2006 3:28 am

So who do you think will become the next Franch President? Will it still be Chirac(yes he's intending to represent himself for the elections ) or would it be anyone out of Nicolas Sarkozy (Nicolas Paul Stéphane Sárkozy de Nagy-Bocsa) , Dominique de Villepin (Dominique Marie François René Galouzeau de Villepin), Ségolène Royal(Marie-Ségolène Royal) Noël Mamère or Jean-Marie Le Pen ?
I'd have Ségolène royale Or Dominique de Villepin
Sarkozy is a far right person who has publicly stated that all the young immigrants be cleaned with a Kärcher(some sort of vacuum cleaner). Although he seems to be favourite, his policy as a president could lead the events of last November to become even more common. As for Jacques Chirac, he's been there for too long enough and I think the only reason he wants to become president is to avoid going to jail for a corruption story that happened in his first mandate. He's well into his 70's and has even had a brain attack...he should just enjoy his last days.
Oh and Jean Marie Le Pen...no comment... he's I'd say the French Hitler and Mussolini mixed up together and in the 2002 elections when he got to the second round, people didn't vote for Chirac...they voted against Le Pen ...

de Villepin looks to be the man for the job. I don't think the French far right will be as strong this time round. Many non-voters will vote this time round due to the religious and racial tensions in France.

Dominique de Villepin I'd guess, I can't see Sarkozy getting in, yet I'd obviously prefer to see him that bloody insane fool JM Le Pen, but I can't see a repeat of the 2002 elections. What about Ségolène Royal? We know very little yet about her policies, but she may just be the change France needs. Personnally I'd be stuck (if I could vote here) between Villepin and Royal. Villepin definitely has that aristocratic French president air to him, so I'd probably vote him. Royal, as I said could be the breath of fresh air we need here in France, but more Socialist ideas such as the 35 hours, NON MERCI! What is clear to me is that something radical needs to change in French politics to keep France up where it belongs and get the country back on track.

I would like to see Ségolène Royale (is she the official socialist candidat?), it's time to see a woman as a president in France. Anyway...Villepin will have the job IMO.

Le Pen !

I've come up with his campaign sloagan:

LE PEN ...OUI !  Wink

Actually, if it is de Villepin, I think he will hate the Americans
more than the British. There will be no amour between Paris
and Washington. And he will probably sour relations with Merkel
in Germany as well.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Dieudonné yet.

Chirac should not run again, he's too old and too weak.
Le Pen? He'll be 80 in 2008.

I think it will be between Sarkozy and de Villepin. Of those I would prefer de Villepin, although I don't like them both.

Royal? A French friend of mine told me the French would note vote a woman.

I always see elderly people in hospital... At 80 they are already in bad physical condition. Then why the hell is it always that all those stupid politicians always live well and in good health to such an advanced age ???

Look at Pinochet...they guy is well over 90 and is still living.. sometimes there's jsut no justice done !

Not if you look at folks like Fidel C.

But hey, Milosevic died at age 64 today. That is one against the rule.

well, I don't know whether he has a "real" daughter. His step-daughter, who distanced herself from him after having seen some "secret" documents of his party by accident, and who thereafter fought against the construction and forest-fires "Mafia" on the Cote-d-Azur, was assassinated in the late 80ies

He has three real daughters and the one that might follow him is called Marine.

well, they may have the same splendid impression of their father as the daughters of Saddam Hussein have of theirs. And I anyway am against condemning people on the "merits" of their father or grandfather.

Alessandra Mussolini is a name that comes to mind.
Sorry my mistake, Marine Le Pen is only VP of NF, http://www.frontnational.com/agenda_marine.php
But I still think she got a better chance than her dad, so hopefully he runs.

she certainly is a good looking woman, BUT
A) the NF is a sister party of the NSDAP
B) her father is a former torturer and what I call a Neo-Nazi
-
while Miss Mussolini at worst is a right-winger
-
in short, neither Colonel Jean-Marie LePen nor anybody else of his party should ever become political leader in any country
