My BMW has one mounted in the dim lever for the rear view mirror, it is to show that the immobiliser is armed and as far as I am aware the flash pattern will also warn if someone has tampered with the car.

How much battery does this little light use? Will the light ever not work?
|Quoting Jamie757 (Reply 17):|
It will also stop working if you don't use the car for a week (maybe two??) or more so it doesn't flatten the battery.

It's just a deterrent I suppose. Kind of stupid though, if a pro thief wants to steal my car he's going to regarldess of the secuirty system or flashing LEDs I have in it.

I have flashing red lights in my truck. I have a siren and two-way radio, too. When the weather is crappy, I have red lights that go on the roof.
