Senate permits national debt to grow to $9 trillion

Why would anyone willingly go into that much debt? Is this to pay for Iraq?

I'm not going to say this is true or not...but do you have a cite for it? The current cost is 400 Billion...a bit short of 1 Trillion.

As for the debt...no one wants to take responsibility for it...why have a balanced budget when you don't have to worry about it in your lifetime? Or so the politicians think. It is rather comical that conservatives want to hold China back and limit outsourcing but are willing to let China buy up our debt.  footinmouth
