The Four Guests At Your Fantasy Dinner...

Sun Mar 19, 2006 2:00 pm

Personally, being a Christian, I'd lean toward Biblical characters:

David, Moses, Peter, and Jesus
II Cor. 4:17-18

Ok, lets try this for a unique dinner with what promises to be great conversation and debate.

Pope John Paul II - Theologian

Mahatma Ghandi - Moralist

George W. Bush - Right Wing Captialist Idealogue

FYI, four guests = five people at dinner. Very unusual...but in keeping with you request:

1. Charles Mingus

2. John Coltrane

3. Henry Charles Bukowski

4. Albert Camus

I'd serve lamb chops, mushroom rissoto, haricots verts, and tons of red wine. The world would never be the same after that.

I would invite -

1) Adolph Hitler (I would love to know who screwed that guy up so badly)
2) George W. Bush (I like him, many don't, but I'd love to talk with him)
3) Winston Churchill (The best PM ever in my mind)
4) Ronald Regan (The man led quite a life, even though I was too young to experience his presidency the books on him gave me a great respect for the man)

Winston Churchill is a fine choice. It's always good to have at least one flower in a patch of weeds.

Well I like Bush and Regan, although there is no doubt that Hitler is a weed. However, he is quite an interesting weed none the less.

Wouldn't that be quite the sight, although Rush and Bush would slaughter them, Kerry would keep saying "I can't deal with hypotheticals" and Moore would spend the whole time eating.

Okay, enough of this goody goody famous people with real meaning behind it talk. Anyone can have a serious discussion. I'd like to have fun!

My brother. He is easily the most entertaining person I have ever met or heard!

Jim Hightower. Funny sumbitch right there!

My friend Nicci. Because seriously, who doesn't like to have someone there to sing bad songs with them?

Jim Gaffigan. I only dated one Asian girl, but she was really Asian. She was a panda.

Figure that should be enough to have fun, learn some, and sing some great drunken songs! What more could one want at dinner?

While having famous people would be kinda neat, at this point in my life, being the only one left in family, I'd say:
1) my Dad - died when i was a kid - don't remember him at all
2) my Mom - died 4 yrs ago
3) my Aunt (Dad's sister) - died 6 yrs ago
4) my grandfather on Dad's side - never met him - died when I was a kid..

And I'd then rotate the grandparent slot thru the other 3 whom i never met either...for same reason...

I would be able to ask them all about their careers, what broke up the group, what the future holds, and how they were inspired to write such good songs that still retain their popularity after 30 years. And I would persuade them to sing after the meal, so I would be the only person to have heard ABBA together after the split-up and when they were all +50.

I am such a sad ABBA Queen!
