Joining The Mile High Club

Sun Mar 19, 2006 2:47 pm

Is there any way you can legally join the mile high club? Is there an airline that allows this or a special flight you can take to accomplish this achievement? Thanks for the input?

Well, Virgin has come awfully close, lol. All I will say about my membership is that a Continental DC-10 did it for me, lol.

I think there used to be an airline that provided the service out of Atlanta. It was on a single engine a/c. I believe they were forced to shut down, but don't quote me on that.

sure, lol, you buy a ticket on a fairly empty widebody (if there is such a thing anymore) you stake yourself out an empty center section row, you get under the blanket with your love.....and if all goes well, you'll recieve your membership card, good luck and have fun trying!

Didn't Virgin Atlantic change the baby changing foldable tables in the lav to withstand 600 lbs instead of the normal 30 lbs weight limit due to it being used as a baby-making, and not for baby-changing?  rotfl

Do it on a widebody with a large-sized handicap lav in the middle of the night, not when a movie will be ending. Be discreet.

There was a compnay that was doing a charter bit out of Van Nuys I think. Then the city council got wind of it and had him shut down.

But if you are looking to enter the club, I would suggest starting small-the solo rating.

Wow, they are really covering all the bases. How many times do they expect two 300-pounders to go at it within the confines of a lav? And with a baby change table folded down???

Change table is too high up to be of much use. I can assure you all goes well if she leans back over the toilet, with one leg on either side of you. Or you sit on the toilet and she 'sits' on you (this would be useful where space is at a premium), like in a Dash 8.

What, Slovacek747 should attempt this is in a Cessna 150?

LMAO....the mind boggles..... The toilet for 2 300 pounders would be about as effective for lovemaking as a cat flap in an elephant house.... (Go blackadder quotes!)

I watched a programme a while back on either NGC or Discovery Wings about an airline who own a Leerjet(?) and they allow couples to go up in it and join the infamous club, although I can't remember the company name.

It was in the USA.

Alot of flight schools offer mile high flights. Check with a few of your local flight schools to see. They'll usually just curtain off the back seat of a light piston single and let you have at it. (Although you might be the joke for the flight instructors for months to come...)

I've found that that Virgin's economy bathroom on 747's, Delta's bathroom on 767 and MD-11, and most surprisingly BMI's bathroom on the A320 are all sufficient for joining/renewing membership.

As has already been mentioned - book a night flight with a light load, and don't try it as a movie is ending. From my experience, I've found that a good time is when the drinks/meal service is starting - most people are in their seats for a the service, and the F/A's are otherwise occupied to take much notice of a bathroom being in use for an extended amount of time.

Oh, and don't be too loud. Those doors are not very soundproof.

Good luck!

A quick search of Google revealed a place in Chicago that does these. Quite pricey for a "sightseeing" trip.

I also remember seeing a special one time about a place out in the San Fran area that did these. Interesting.

My buddy from highschool tried it and said that at the end it got bumby, and lets just say he missed his target. He said the bathroom was a mess after he was done. Though he said it was the best ending he ever experienced. Figure that. This was on an AA 777 from LHR to ORD last summer. The flight was empty and no one even noticed.

If your wife only has a snack in your seat, instead of the full meal in the lav, do you still qualify for elite status? Or do you have to go all the way to qualify?

yea on a EWR-LAX flight in a B738, the loo is rather cramped and the queue of people waiting i think it will be rather obvious.

though i did see this from: http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1731395.html?menu=

Pilot offers tickets to mile high club

An Israeli pilot is offering to take couples on flights around Tel Aviv so that they can join the mile high club.

For less than £140, pilot Tamir Harpas will take adventurous lovers on a 45 minute flight complete with wine, chocolates and condoms.

He will take just one couple at a time and the pair can get as amorous as they like without fear of getting caught by air stewards.

However, there is one disadvantage - they are only separated from the pilot's cockpit by a curtain, reports newspaper Jediot Aharonot.

ROFLMAO !! Funniest thing Ive read on here yet !

Ive heard that the rear cargo area on the 747 Combi's is/was pretty active for crewmembers. A friend of mine who works for KL told me that.

My initiation to da club was in the rear cargo hold in an F27 in the 80s when i was a FA. And, to make it even more trashy (as if i needed to!), I was on duty - and it was a passenger! I know ... oh, Tony that's shocking, terribly unprofessional and inappropriate ! LOL

Lets hear some more experiences! (Not necessarily all the gory detail tho, TYVM!)

Why in the hell would you want to? I mean number 1, it is disrespectful to fellow passengers, number 2 it is illegal (lewd conduct and public fornication to name just a couple of potential charges, and number 3, it is unhygenic.

I mean come on, keep it in your pants for crying out loud and furthermore, if one of my young kids has to see you being a sick bastard then the legal charges are the least of your worries.

Grow up.

Being in an empty First class cabin it might be possible. However trying the dirty deed in today's cramped oversold Y class cabins is impossible and that includes the lavs as well. There are always lines to use them and they are far to small. I think many people just say they have joined the club just to be different.
Let's see what aircraft would be romantic to have sex....hmmm how about an IL-18 flying between Sochi and Odessa while a stew with ham hocks for arms bangs on the flimsy lav door shouting incoherently while you and your partner try and figure out what position to get into. drunk

I'm surprised it took this long for the first bucket of cold water to be thrown on this conversation. Obviously another uptight A.nett-er who doesnt have the capacity to loosen up a little (along with FlightShadow) .

You know guys, it IS possible to have a little levity in these forums, too. If you found this topic so offensive, Father-Of-The-Year, then why did you even come into this thread ? Was it really to defend the honor of your 'young kids'?
