Anyone Read Le Carres Honourable Schoolboy?

Thu Mar 23, 2006 9:50 am

Because, as usual, after reading a Le Carre book I am a bit confused.
What happened to the Goldseam? I never worked out what the Goldseam was for or why Jake Ko was handling it. Was he holding it for his brother Nelson (who was a spy for the russians right?) waiting for the day he escaped from China?

It's been a couple years, so bear with me. If I remember correctly, the goldseam was Nelson giving secrets to Jake, who passed them on to the Russians and kept the money for when Nelson got out.
BTW, that might have been his most complicated book. It gets easier from there.
