Now...John Kerry's Hotel Rider

Tue Mar 28, 2006 6:56 am

To go with the earlier thread Dick Cheney's Rider (by LHMARK Mar 24 2006 in Non Aviation) about Dick Cheney's rider we now have Lurch's requests.

No Evian water? I figured His Frenchiness would have loved the stuff.

What is the friggen big deal about these?

When I was in college in New York, I worked at the Ritz-Carlton, the Stanhope and the Park Lane. I also worked for Swissotel in DUS and Bern.

Whenever we had a VIP be it a Politico, Hollywood type or EuroTrash Royalty we always got this type of information.

People outside of the Hospitality Industry forget, that our job is to service our guests. This type of information is greatly appreciated for our VIP's and 99% of the time they are very grateful.

So Massachusetts is part of "la Grande Nation" now?

I guess it's to have yet another "reason" to bitch and moan about the politicians you choose to "hate". *sigh* If only people could just disagree instead of erupting like a nail bomb.

No big deal but somewhat amusing. Cheney's and Lurch's are both pretty light compared to some others I have seen out there. I get a kick out of reading some of them and their demands for moodlighting, feng shui, and 8 million other requests that the hotel or promoter has to foot the bill for themselves.

No, but Kerry sure loves France and let's everyone know it.

Exactly. Riders, while sometimes they can go pretty damn extreme and complicated (J.Lo, George Carlin,) and are just a fun read sometimes (Blink 182) are a necessary way of life for anyone going out on the road.

I leave the cube on a daily basis and I don't hate everyone in it that remotely has a difference of opinion than me. You really can be an ass with some of your comments.

I've been to France, more so Paris, and I would like to go back and see the rest of the country as Paris just didn't do much for me with the transportation strike and rioting students.

I'm just as picky at the grocery store. When people travel constantly the hotel basically is their home and they get to pick what brands and type of food they eat just like everyone else. Think of how picky your list would be - type of milk, soft drinks, vegetables you will and won't eat and compare it to Cheney and Kerry's, I'm probably pickier than they are.

First off there is nothing wrong with being particular and having things the way you like them. Nothing at all. I doubt all pages are real, page 2 maybe but that's it.

Page 1: JK hates celery. then Page 4: Celery is listed aas good
Same with Tuna on P1 and then elswehere...

The first two pages are John Kerry's rider, and the second two pages are the addendum for Teresa Heinz Kerry.

Also, the tomato, citrus, and chocolate ban sure looks like an avoidance for medication purposes, not because of an aversion to the source of his wife's fortune. Not as "odd" as the Smoking Gun makes it out to be.

I think even the 'Gun was only pretending to create a mystery around the tomato thing. Surely they know that Ms. Kerry was a Heinz by marriage...

Not that there's bias, but I did notice that the current Vice President is honored with his correct surname in the posting, but Sen. Kerry got renamed "Lurch." I'm told by people who'd know that, in person, the Senator has a dry sense of humor that is often on display; I wonder what his nickname for the poster would be?

People with bags full of money or who are of note otherwise have special needs, and hotels accommodate them. Not front page news.

Is John Kerry still relevant?

BTW, what are some of Al Gore's favorite treats?
Did they put any in his hotel room in Saudi Arabia a few weeks ago?

Note that there is no mention of Kerry's bed. That's because he was really a corpse and they carried him in a coffin for storage when he wasn't campaining.

I'm just saying that when I was in Paris I was unimpressed and that the strikes and rioting students put a damper on seeing things in the city. Everything in my statement was true and not a dig at the French. So if the truth makes me an ass in your eyes then so be it.

A member of my church is a Secret Service Agent and he is no fan of working her detail. She treats the Secret Service like porters. On more than one occasion she has been told they are not there to carry her bags.
