No not that sort of consultancy. I work for a big firm that is heavily involved in the construction industry so does a lot of work building airports and the like. However my area is aviation economics and forecasting so I tend to work on traffic forecasts for airports and airlines, route development studies, policy and so on...

I work for a State agency in Florida. I gather data, compile it, create a preliminary report, and send it to the State legislature.

Do I like it? As a matter of fact I don't. It's only a part-time job, but I've gotten to work with really incompetent people and now I have one of the most lazy bosses I have ever had.

But I'll be switching jobs once I graduate in the late Spring Big grin

I know how you feel! I have to put up with them night and day, both EWS and Freightliner varieties, thundering past my house loaded with coal or even worse, the screeching brakes as they slow down to start reversing into the local opencast rail-head (which is about 300yds from my kitchen window!)

Nope, the rail-head was built about 2 years ago, when the opencast mine (which is miles away) started production. Sad

My job is fantatsic. And I'm a liar Big grin

I work for a well known subsidiary of BA, based on the Isle of Man. My job entails producing scheduled maintenance chack packs for Dash 8 and Avro RJ100/BAe 146 aircraft in our fleet. Wildy exciting, working with aeroplanes and engineers with the added benefit of Willie Walsh giving us 2 years to get it right or else. Ah, the management here really know how to encourage and persuade maximum effort! Big grin

Have a nice day y'all

I'm the Production Planner for repairs. We manufacture electric and mechanical cooling fans ranging from 37mm to 1.5m in size. We also make specialized heaters and DC motors. The equipment has a huge number applications ranging from aircraft avionics (smallest) to train and battletank engines (largest). I enjoy the job, but the current bunch of people in my office are pretty obnoxious. We are due a move round soon, so hopefully things will get better.

I am a pediatric surgeon working at the University Hospital and clinics in Dresden. I perform surgery in children from birth (sometimes as small as 700g) up to 18 years old. We perform digestive surgery, malformations, fractures, tumors, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, cardiac surgery and urologic surgery. Right now I am working at the Newborn ICU in a rotation, and I love my job.

Apart from this, I also do research on the molecular basis of some pediatric diseases, sequencing target genes (like the RET protooncogene or NOS1) in patients and their families.

Sometimes I sleep. Not very often, though  Smile

I'm a professional driver and have been since 1985. 10 years in people relocation (read TAXI DRIVER) and the last 11 as a Customer Service Delivery Agent (read truck driver), and yes, I enjoy it very much. The driving part. Some of the idiots I have to deal with are another story.

And yes, I have some horror stories about shippers and receivers (one involving the local police, and my being invited never to return, which really broke my heart  Wink)

I'm a Sales Engineer for the world's biggest GDS, involved in preparing Passenger Service IT solutions for airlines (usually but not restricted to 1million pax p.a. plus). It's a great job, and I love it, even though it stresses me to distraction and has me tearing my hair out sometimes. I've been working through the company towards this job for 3 or 4 years now, and I'm chuffed to bits to have got it. I get to travel and meet airline customers, discuss their IT requirements, propose solutions, coordinate presentations and demos with our various sites worldwide, it's pretty cool.
