Very left leaning McClatchy Newpapers publication called the Anchorage Daily News . . . . . it's a POS newspaper, but it's the only game in town. I read the NY Times as well . . .

The San Antonio Excuse-, I mean, Express-News. Owned by the folks over at the Hearst Corporation, whom you might also recognize from such publications as the Houston Chronicle and the chick mag, Cosmopolitan.

The Excuse-News costs $0.50 daily and $1.50 for the Sunday edition. We also get the equally lame Austin American-Statesman, the Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. However, my favorite area newspaper has got to be the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung, for no other reason than the name. Big grin

I never read the local paper and I never watch the local TV news. I read the NY Times on the Internet every day. For TV news I watch The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Big grin

At Home: The Philadelphia Inquirer (There's also the Daily News, but that's really trash).

At School: The Bergen County (NJ) Record, NY Times. I read both of these 5 days a week, and I also read USA Today.

My college paper is The Daily Evergreen: www.dailyevergreen.com
The local paper is the Moscow-Pullman Daily News: www.dnews.com
The closest "big" paper would be the Spokane Spokesman-Review: www.spokesmanreview.com

At home, my main reads are the Everett Herald: www.heraldnet.com
the Seattle Times: www.seattletimes.com
and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer: www.seattlepi.com

The college paper is The Independant, that one's a weekly, and the local newspaper in town is the Durango Herald. That one comes daily.

I still like the paper but since Lee Enterprises bought out the paper and has tried to take it into a "more middle direction," the operation has gone into a disaster. I've written a couple of feature articles for the paper from time to time and admittedly, they're almost a pain in the ass to work with once it comes time to publish.

I don't read the local paper here in Lund (Lokaltidningen), because it really sucks. In truth it's not a newspaper, but a collection of ads with three articles squeezed in between.

I pick up a free copy of Metro instead.

"The Record" here in Waterloo Region. Its not too bad. I find the Saturday edition tends to be the fattest, and usually has the best news.

Whitby this Week is the local; it cost $6 for three weeks. The Toronto Star is alot better though even if it's not local.

The local newspaper where I live are the Zürcher Unterländer and the Bülacher Tagblatt; both lousy, that's why we also get the Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

I read the Metro its free in London and most buses or trains have them on-board so it's easy to get it on the way to work/school.

Seattle Times, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and at UW "The Daily"

When I'm home, it's the centre-left Salt Lake Tribune or, if in the mood for self-torture, the Deseret Morning News.

Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung (WAZ)

Quite a big paper in Germany, one of the biggest I think. I personally like it, the sports part especially.

 Silly

Here IN Victoria, we get the Times Colonist. In the municipality I live, we also get the tri-weekly Saanich News, I guess because it is such a big municipality in terms of population (bigger than Victoria).

Actually as I live pretty close to Hamburg one can consider the Hamburger Morgenpost and the Hamburger Abendblatt local as well.

Newsday: http://www.newsday.com
A generally liberal tabloid-format newspaper under the same ownership as the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune. It has semi-decent coverage of local stories, though often with a strongly populist bent, but its coverage of national and international news is fairly scanty. Sports and entertainment coverage is okay, business coverage is mediocre.

The Dallas Morning News. I despise DMN. The only good part about it is the sports section. Dallas has not had a decent paper since The Dallas Times Herald was purchased by DMN back in the early 1990s.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram is also available every here and there, but no self respecting Dallasite would ever admit to having read it  Wink

Oh man, the Post-Distress...actually a decent paper. No international news to be found, though. Had to depend on NYTimes and Chicago papers. Great local coverage.
