What Is Considered "Hard-Core Gaming"?

Sat Apr 08, 2006 3:32 pm

I need a reference point, liek what genre is generally considered "hard-core gaming".

I read customers giving reviews on various tech websites regarding things they got and there are always theses replies that make me wonder what they are talking about. Like, "if you like hard-core gaming, dont buy this...blah blah blah"  confused

Are they talking about a few genres like first-person shooter or all of them??

I'd say gaming that is very demanding on your PC's resources and requires massive Video memory etc. etc. Usually coinsides with the term "Hardcore nerd"

I was reading an article last week, can't remember where from, but it says that people who plays between 5 and 20 hours are just part-time or occasional gamer. So I would suggest something over 20 hours would be extreme, and hardcore would be something over 40.. If you do break it down, 40 hours is like 6 hours worth of gaming each day for the 7 days of the week..

I would also suggest it involves all games, not limited to RPGs

I hope that helps...
