Sure I read LOTS of books! I'm known as the bookworm by family and friends.
At home in Fort Wayne, IN
, I actually have two tall bookcases of my own--loaded with my entire library of books. One bookcase is upstairs in my room, the other is downstairs.
Here in London, I have built up a small library--mostly textbooks from King's College London, dealing with anatomy, genetics, embryology, etc.--on the wall-mounted bookcase in my tiny dorm room.
My library (at home and here in London, both) includes:
*A book I actually wrote part of and was published in! (Jill Krementz, 1992, How It Feels to Live with a Physical Disability; I wrote my story in it as a chapter).
*My future autobiography (on a Zip disk, currently)--Against All Odds: The Life Behind My Face
*The Bible (2 versions: NIV from my parents for HS
graduation in 1994, and The Message, a newer version)
*Lots of medical/surgical books (including craniofacial surgery and old surgical textbooks)
*Some of my old textbooks from Purdue University
*Several old Hotel & Travel Index volumes (those huge hotel directories used by travel agents)
*Star Trek & Star Wars books
*Airliner books (mostly on 747s)
*Science fiction novels
*A whole library of music--for piano, guitar, & violin
*Architecture/interior design books
*Cookbooks (The Joy of Cooking and Irish Heritage Cookbook)
*My old medical records from my frequent surgeries (1975-1996)
*Curious George books (Curious George Treasury and Curious George Goes to the Hospital) and other old childhood favorites
*Airline inflight magazines (from both US and foreign carriers)
*St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Yearbooks (2003-2005)
*My old school yearbooks and school records
*Photography and art books
*A whole gallery's worth of my artworks!
*Steinway Piano magazines
*Other magazines--dealing with airliners and architecture and photography
*Other books too numerous to mention!
If and when I move, I'll need a 747SP to move all my books, artworks, music, piano, etc!
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made... (Psalm 139:14)
