Snooker World Chapionship

Wed Apr 26, 2006 10:45 pm

I don't know if anyone here watchs the snooker, but the quater-finals are underway, with:

Doherty 8-8 Fu

O'Sullivan 4-4 Williams

The defending world champion Shaun Murphy is losing 10-6 to Peter Ebdon, after being 7-1 down, its an ok comeback

and Robertson and Dott went to the last frame with Dott just getting through.

So if anyone watchs the snooker it would be nice to know who you support and who you want to win, if not, don't post! (I hate it when people post things like "I don't know, I don't like snooker..." Why did you post then?????)

I'm personally hoping for Doherty and Ronnie to be in the final, don't like Ebdon, and don't really mind Fu, but do like Williams. Can't see Murphy winning it back this year, but don't want Ebdon to go through. I know he's played very well, so hopefully he'll be pitched up with Ronnie or Doherty, because it don't think he'll beat them.

Wha you think???

Like pool but more complex than potting your colour then the black.

You there are 15 red balls, and you have to pot one red, then one colour. Colours are:
Yellow - 2 pts
Green - 3
Brown - 4
Blue - 5
Pink - 6
Black - 7

you keep going until all the reds are gone, then you pot yellow, up in order of points to black.

Your opponent can ( or you can) when it is easier or if you are behind in points and cannot catch up by potting the all the balls, you can roll up the white ball up against a colour (after you've potted a red) to make sure it is very difficult for your opponent to hit a red. If your opponent does not hit a red or pots the white you get 4 pts, and if your opponent hits another color than red, you will get however many points that ball is worth.

There is more to it, but thats the general gist of it.

If this is incredibly hard to understand just do some googleing and you'll find out soon enough.

Well how come he wasn't in the line up of the 32 players to enter???

Anyhow I want a Williams-Doherty final but not bothered who wins coz I like them both.

Anyone on here play regularly? I'm through to the third round of a competition at my local club.

I'm watching the O'Sullivan v Williams match now, and the high standard of play is just amazing, one of the best matches so far i think...

I don't mind who goes through, but I really hope Ebdon doesn't get to the final, cos he will play like a complete nob and the final will take about 4 days to complete.

Sadly not as high as I'd like it to be. Its in the early thirties but I can only practice and hopefully improve. I was once on for a 147 but missed the 3rd Red!!!!!

Well the quarter finals are nearly over. Only 1 more tie to complete so the semis are as follows

Ebdon v Fu
Williams/O'Sullivan v Dott

Come on Mark or Peter

Update:

Quarter final results:

Ebdon 13-7 Murphy (didn't think he'd make it)

Fu 13-10 Doherty

Dott 13-12 Robertson

Williams 11-13 O'Sullivan

Semi-final current scores:

Ebdon 9-7 Fu (Starting now!!)

O'Sullivan 8-8 Dott (close stuff)

I hope for a Ronnie - Fu final. Can't stand Ebdon!!!!!!!!!!
If he gets through to the final he probably won't be finished until next year!!!!!!!!!
