Will There Be Any More 9/11 Trials?

Thu May 04, 2006 8:06 am

Supposing some of the top Al Qaeda people are caught, I assume they'll be tried for their part in 9/11. If so, will all the witnesses/injured victims/officials etc who gave evidence at the Maussaoui trial have to give evidence again?

Is there a way that a sentence can be passed based upon the facts/accounts given at a previous trial? It would be a nightmare for all those that gave evidence already to have to relive their experiences yet again.

I really hope there arent too many more trials. these people are not citizens of the US and are not entitled to the luxury of getting a fair trial. while it would serve as a form of closure for those who lost love ones, it would only be a waste of taxpayer money, and wouldnt really prove anything. justice should come in the form of a 7.62mm bullet on the battlefield.
If it was said by us, then it must be true.

Some of the top Al Qaeda people have been caught already. They are being held in secret prisons. They will never be tried. They are military prisoners and can be executed. Since they have most likely been tortured or otherwise mistreated, they could never have a trial.

Obviously if the tides should change and we actually caught OBL alive I think there would be a trial of course. Just how and when it would go down, but if I am not mistaken he was convicted in absentia(sp) for the African embassy bombings already, this could be a mistake on my part though. I highly doubt OBL will be caught alive, but I said the same about Saddam, but OBL seems to be much less of a pussy than Saddam though and OBL would from what I have seen he would much rather be a martyr.

I have joked with my friends about my idea for a punishment for OBL in the event he was caught alive. CAGE MATCH. OBL vs 12 volunteer lower Manhattan fire fighters armed with pool balls in tube socks. If OBL can climb the 12 foot cage he is free to walk out. Just a thought, but it would be a huge hit at Madison Square Garden and just imagine the pay per view revenues.

Perhaps the next person who starts a thread about the "interesting unanswered questions" regarding 9/11 will be prosecuted for theft of bandwidth.

One can hope.

It is a well established principle of American courts that foreign nationals are entitled to the same due process as anyone else.

Summary executions are the stuff of Nazi concentration camps not the judicial system of the United States. If you go down that road, you become the very thing you're trying to fight.

confused  Was this aimed at the thread starter (me)? Or the regular conspiracy theorist's BS on non-av?
