Can You Translate This? (Dutch)

Sat May 06, 2006 6:20 am

I am trying to find out why my radar detector in my car sometimes will start blinking and flashing LO3 CAL MARKERS for no reason whatsoever. It will usually happen not long after I start my car. I usually can turn it off, wait a moment and turn it back on, and it will usually be fine. Today I decided to Google it and see what I could find. The only thing that came up in reference to that was a website that was in Dutch, I believe. Can anyone translate it?

"Werkt opkomend redelijk. 100 tot 300 mtr. Afgaand pas bij passeren van de radar. Geeft regelmatig de melding; ?LO3 CAL en vervolgens ?MARKERS. Dit signaal blijft tot dat ik een keer heb uitgeschakeld. Ik vind dit niet terug in de handleiding."

Any help would be great. I tried to get an online translation website to unscramble it, to no avail. I may be wrong and it may not even be Dutch.

Thanks.

This is what I got with an online translator:

Works rising rather. 100 up to 300 mtr. Descending just at pass of the radar. Regularly the report gives

But I'm sure our Dutch friends here can give you a better translation.

Bad Translation, but looks like someone else cant figure out what it means:

Works rising rather. 100 up to 300 mtr. Descending just at pass of the radar. Regularly the report gives; LO3 CAL and vervolgens MARKERS. This indicator remains to that I a time has eliminated. I do not retrieve this in the guide

I'm using a friends computer and he still has Denmark up to support the country after that whole "Muslims can't take a joke of Muhammed" thing. I'm surprised Muslims haven't jumped on the U.S. now since South Park regularly has Muhammed on their show as a black square and the words "censored" over it to poke fun as well.

Anyone else that can take a stab at it is welcome to.

The quote that you posted is a question that somebody posted on a forum in Dutch. You need to look at the messages posted after the question and translate them.

It also helps to Google "LO3 CAL" because you get more hits that way.

I tried. In fact, the site had a 6 language translation option. I figured, "Ooh, this will help." So I clicked English. It redirected me to a completely different website, and even searching that website, I still couldn't find the message board on there. I'll try Googling it the other way though and see what happens.

You have to copy the text to the clipboard and paste it into Babelfish.

But I don't think there is an answer on that Dutch site. I tried to translate and couldn't find anything useful.

its definitely dutch! part of this is from memory, part of it is from a friend who's slovenian but knows more dutch than i do. pardon the bad dutch. however it should be correct. Any fluent Nederlanders or Vlaams speakers please correct me Big grin

work following in sequence ( or is it reasonable work coming up?) 100 till 300m just when you past the radar. regularly gives report of "LO3 CAL and afterwards MARKERS". the signal will stay engaged until you have disengaged it. I can't find it in the handbook.

It's Dutch allright, although badly written/expressed (or copied) which makes it kind of difficult to translate, but here goes:

"Works reasonably well at the beginning. 100 to 300 meters. Goes off (gives alarm?) only at passing the radar. Gives regularly the message ?LO3 CAL followed by ?MARKERS. This signal (error code?) stays until I have switched it off. I cannot find anything on this in the manual." Given my own descriptions of what I believe the writer means in parenthesis.

Looks like this is simply a post by a Dutch user who has the same problems as you have.

Found this site http://www.beltronicspro.com/. Looks like the manufacturor of the radar-detector discussed in the Dutch text. The site is in English.

Good luck!
