As you can see from the photo below, the Isle of Man Stadium of Rain is coming on quite nicley. The fire behind, ahh don't worry about that, the photo was taken during the Hemel Hempstead Fire.

It's called "show off to the West"! Dictators usually need somewhere other than the main square of their capital city to do some Rally and "show off" how much his people "support" him!  Yeah sure (that sounds closely to Prez Kirchner  Yeah sure)

Well let's start with Columbia, South Carolina my hometown.

Williams-Brice Stadium (Home of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks Football team)

http://webzoom.freewebs.com/waccamatt/usc%20colonial%20center.jpg
The Colonial Center (Home of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks Men's & Women's Basketball teams)

Sarge Frye Field (Home of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks Baseball team)

Eugene Stone III Stadium (Home of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks Men's & Women's Soccer teams)

http://webzoom.freewebs.com/waccamatt/usc%20carolina%20coliseum.jpg
The Carolina Coliseum (Home of the Columbia Inferno ice hockey team (ECHL))

Capital City Stadium (Former home of the Columbia Mets/Capital City Bombers baseball team (SAL), current home of the Columbia Blowfish baseball team (CPL))

Onto Raleigh, North Carolina

RBC Center (Home of the Carolina Hurricanes ice hockey team (NHL) and the North Carolina State University Wolfpack Men's Basketball team)

Carter-Finley Stadium (Home of the North Carolina State University Wolfpack Football team)

Doak Field (Home of the North Carolina State University Wolfpack Baseball team)

SAS Soccer Park (Home of the North Carolina State University Wolfpack Women's Soccer team

Alas, I couldn't find any pics of where the Men's team plays, Method Road Soccer Field - probably because it's ghetto...a field and some bleachers and that's about it. There's some talk of the men's team moving to SAS as well or perhaps to the field current track, which is being renovated.

I've also chosen not to include pics from Durham (Durham Bulls Athletic Park, Wallace Wade Stadium, Jack Coombs Field, Cameron Indoor Stadium, Koskinen Stadium), Chapel Hill (Kenan Stadium, Dean E. Smith Center, Boshamer Stadium, Fetzer Field), or Zebulon (Five Counties Stadium) because 1) I don't want my post to be too humongous and 2) I don't live in those towns, I live in Raleigh

Heh. In light of that, I've decided on second thought to include pics of the two professional minor league ballparks close to Raleigh. First the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, home of the Durham Bulls, the AAA-class affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, who play in the International League.

And now Five County Stadium in Zebulon, NC. It's the home of the Carolina Mudcats, the AA-class affiliate of the Florida Marlins - they play in the Southern League.

Five County is also the home of Cattails Restaurant, which provides an odd juxtaposition of fine dining with the ballpark experience.

Definitely not your typical ballpark fare!

Since I feel more drawn to my school stadiums from my college days versus anything in Atlanta I give you...

Florida Field (Largest football stadium in Florida at over 90,000 seats)

McKethan Stadium with the O'Connell Center (O Dome) in the background

Interior of the O Dome (used for basketball, gymnastics, indoor track, and swimming)

Turner Field in ATL since I do love my Braves. (with the now demolished Fulton County Stadium in the background)

Memorial Stadium (aka "The Castle"): Since 1993, the home of the Fort Wayne, IN, Wizards, an A-level minor league affiliate of the San Diego Padres.

This is part of the Fort Wayne/Allen County War Memorial Coliseum complex.

Fort Wayne, IN, is my hometown, and I faithfully attend at least one or two Wizards baseball games every summer (when I'm home from my studies in England).
