Coolest Place You've Ever Been.

Tue May 23, 2006 6:20 pm

Unlike the coldest, this one isn't temperature sensitive.

Coolest place I've ever been is an Air NZ 737 Simulator.

You are both so wrong. As someone stated in another thread, rimming involves a person's tongue and another person's anus.

My coolest place has to be the ATC-tower at NGO Centrair last summer.

Left seat of the TWA 767-300 full motion sim was pretty damn cool. But I'll go with out in the Sangre de Cristos Mountains in Colorado. Never been anywhere more relaxing, fun, and overall cool.

In no particular order

1) John Hancock Tower in Chicago during 4th of July fireworks, we had to look down at them!
2) 2nd SkyLab in Huntsville AL used for problem analysis
3) Key West, especially the sunset cruise on the Western Union and the nightclub that was clothing optional
4) Dinner with George Halas (Papa Bear) and the 1963 Bears championship team 15th reunion
5) Closed Bears practice where I met Walter Payton
6) Cape Canaveral with two Shuttles on the pad at once
7) Too many concerts I provided lighting for to name, but Joan Jett, Arron Neville, Fuel, Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker, Sawyer Brown, Iron Butterfly, Warrant, Slaughter, and Quiet Riot stand out as really cool nights for various reasons
8) New Orleans
9) Hawaii
10) Kentucky Derby

Don't know for sure. I've been a lot of places in a short time, and each have been tops on their own merits. Considering the company, Iraq was quite amazing. Ummm, I was once in a womb and lived to tell about it.

In no particular order:

  • Back seat of a P-51 going around the pylons at Reno.

  • London

  • Engine room of a Liberty ship.

  • Prince Rupert British Columbia knowing I didn't have to stay.

  • Niagara Falls for my 20th anniversary.

  • Paris for my 30th anniversary.

  • All alone with the tallest tree in the world.

  • All alone in the middle of the Black Rock Desert except I didn't know where my airplane was.

  • The upstairs tasting room at Newton wineries which does not give tours or tastings.

  • Rome

  • The Smithsonian's Paul Garber restoration shops.

  • Under the oak trees viewing 'the esses' at Laguna Seca while birdcage Maseratis and Scarabs and "ol' yeller" are lapping.

  • The yard/garden/deck of my own creation with a nice glass of wine and my sweetie beside me.
  • Happiness is not seeing another trite Ste. Maarten photo all week long.

Place or event? Kinda blurring of the lines here, as a memorable event makes the place unforgettable sometimes.

    In no order:

    * Lambeau Field Big grin
    * Great Wall of China
    * B-17 cockpit, from takeoff to landing
    * Alpine Valley, East Troy WI, Aug 26, 1990

so difficult to choose - too many options - in no particular order mine ( at least the uncensored ones ) would be :

standing on top of one of the sand dunes at Sossusvlei in Namibia / bouncing around at the end of a bungy cord in Taupo in New Zealand / watching the sun rise from on top of Mt Kinabalu in Sabah , Malaysia / dawn ceremony at Anzac Cove , 25 April 2002 / using the urinal at the Peninsula hotel in Hong Kong (those who have been there know what I mean ) / tour of the Boeing factory at Everett / landing at Kai Tak on a CX 744 ( that should keep the plane spotters happy ) / being in the stand at the opening ceremony for the Gay Games in SYD in 2002 ( that should keep the rest of Anet happy !) and of course to combine "A.netting" and "gaynetting" into one activity you can't beat the gay beach near the end of the runway at Faro  - couldn't make up my mind where to look
