Hypothetical Wars: Who Would Win?

Wed May 24, 2006 6:22 am

1) North Korea v. South Korea
2) India v. Pakistan
3) Greece v. Turkey
4) Canada v. The Boy Scouts

These are evenly matched entities, therefore I excluded Israel against any of its Arab neighbors because we all know it's a one-side fight.

Quoting Confuscius (Thread starter):
North Korea v. South Korea

South Korea, because the Americans and perhaps the Japanese will back them up. But then again, China might also get involved.

Quoting Confuscius (Thread starter):
India v. Pakistan
Greece v. Turkey

Those would end in a tie.

Quoting Confuscius (Thread starter):
Canada v. The Boy Scouts

There's a tricky one.  scratchchin  I say the Boyscouts from the St. Andreas Church in Hamburg (that's the boyscout group I've been) will beat Canada..........................................not!

NK v SK
Initially NK but both nations would end up radioactive slag piles so it's a net loss for both sides. The victor gets to claim nothing but a wasteland.

India v Pakistan both capitol cities reduced to radioactive ash, Bangladesh ends up the clear winner. Finally able to claim some land more than high tide above sea level.

Greece v Turkey no KIA or MIA as it will be a talking war only.

Canada v the Boy Scouts, Canada unless the Boy Scouts have some damn good hockey players that can hold more than a few beers at a time.

Well despite there being no rules in love and war, you should outline the definition a bit more, are allies involved and of course in the case IndiaV Pakistan, and NKvSK, is the bomb in play. Assuming you are talking a one on one conventional war, where other entities stay uninvolved and going with the weapons they have already imported, and can continue to manufacture throughout the war, I dont see any of this happening, as I am sure if there was ever a fight between these countries the international community would step in on one side or the other depending on thier relations with said countries. So Ill give it a go.

Quoting Confuscius (Thread starter):
1) North Korea v. South Korea

I would say NKorea, larger standing army, though troop rations would be an issue for them. IIRC Soeul is in artillery range of the north side of the DMZ.

Quoting Confuscius (Thread starter):
2) India v. Pakistan

India would win I believe simply on population superiority alone.

Quoting Confuscius (Thread starter):
3) Greece v. Turkey

This one would be a toss up for me, just to play the stereotypes here, Turks would be to stoned and the greeks to drunk to actually fight  duck

Quoting Confuscius (Thread starter):
4) Canada v. The Boy Scouts

Well are the boy scouts allowed pistols in Canada? Because that might be the edge the boys need.

1. It depends if nukes are used. If not, then South Korea, especially since the U.S. would help.

2. India.

3. Turkey, I think. Not sure, though.

4. Canada.

You can answer all these questions on "Google Fight".

For example,

South Korea beats North Korea:

Cananda beats the Boy Scouts by a wide margin.

Here's my take...

1) Tie: A tug-of-war but both would end up on their respective side of the 38th parallel.

2) India: A better and more disciplined army.

3) Turkey: Recent history proves the Turks are better.

4) Boy Scouts: Unless you're a harp seal.

In nuclear age, wars between big armies cannot be won anymore.

1) North Korea v. South Korea

Risky, probably a tie

2) India v. Pakistan

India, assuming a full out war, however Pakistan would be turned into radioactive glass... and Delhi would be a smoking crater... call that victory if you want.

3) Greece v. Turkey

No real winner

4) Canada v. The Boy Scouts

Now lets think here. I bash boy scout troop with hockey stick, they tie some neat knots in a rope and toss it at me, I use a catapult loaded with Tim's XLTTs, they come back with a big stick that the beavers eat before it can be used... errrr... call it a draw  box

Quoting Confuscius (Thread starter):
1) North Korea v. South Korea

I think this one would be a loss for both. My guess is that NK would nuke Seoul pretty quickly, which would mean the US and Japan for sure would step in as well as the rest of the world. So SK would technically win but with huge consequences.

Quoting Confuscius (Thread starter):
2) India v. Pakistan

In a conventional war, India would backhand Pakistan. More soldiers and more sophisticated equipment would make the difference. In a nuclear war, India would still win because it's larger and with more people. Again in a nuclear war, both would still be losers in the end.
