Ah, Siblings... (rant)

Tue May 30, 2006 12:44 am

Last Saturday my two sisters were playing in the backyard, while I kept asking them to come in and finish their homework, to no avail. Instead of paying any attention to me, the little one grabbed her rubber ball and started "Look, I can throw the ball really high!" So she throws it up... and hits the ceiling lamp, breaking it. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but I spent a good half hour combing my sister's curly hair to get rid of the tiny glass pieces.  grumpy

Sigh... I love both of my sisters to bits and we get along really well, but there are the times when they make me want to yell!  yell

May I be the first one to say, "awww, aint dat shweeet".  Smile

As for me, I always get on with my siblings. Afterall, what 20 year old doesn't get on with a 4 year old boy and 2 year old girl?

I have no siblings but I do have a whole boat load of cousins and lived with a few who are 10, 12 and 16 years younger than me. Believe me when I say I feel your pain.

Yup. Same here, I'm 22, one of my sisters is 10 and the other is 5. Funny thing is, I have a better relationship with them than with my 20-year-old brother...

Now my two daughters (5&3), well they can either scream and yell at each other or love each other to bits. Girls are the strangest things  Wink

Maybe something's missing here, but how did she break the ceiling lamp if she was in the backyard?

Thank god my stepbrothers are much older than me. One of them should be close to hitting 40 now. Big grin

Though once I get to meet my two nephews, then things will be interesting.

Part of the backyard is covered with a roof, and there are two lamps hanging from the ceiling. Well, right now we have only one...  Silly

Nah, I'm happy being the oldest. There are moments when the little ones make my day... A while ago, my dad received a PowerPoint presentation with some pics of SXM; upon seeing them, the 10-year-old girl exclaimed "Hey, I just found Carmen's perfect vacation spot!"

And my other sis is always pointing out "Look, an airplane!" whenever she sees one... an a.nutter in the making. Big grin

Exactly.

Sorry, it's Monday afternoon, the part of my brain that takes care of translations seems not to be in full motion today...  Silly

I have three sisters.

The oldest one (35 years old) has been living in Quito, Ecuador for the last 5 or 6 years. I have always had a great relationship with her and we're really close...in fact, I am flying to Quito the next wednesday (June 7th) and will spend 3 weeks there with her and her children as well as with my brother in law who's a great guy.

The second one (30 years old) lives in central Madrid with her husband and my beautiful niece. We have a good relationship, although not as good as the one I have with my older sister.

And last...there's my youngest sister. She's 18 right now and she's the most annoying example of what a spoilt brat can be. I have not spoken to her in the last 20 months and I have no problem at all if it stays like that.
