What's Your Current Ringtone?

Tue May 30, 2006 9:31 am

So I just spent some time fine-tuning my latest GMIDI ringtone creation and as I wait for it to beam over to my phone, I thought I'd find out what all youse are listening to everytime someone calls you.

Right now, I'm replacing the opening of "Layla" with part of "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth". If you've been to Epcot in Walt Disney World in the past seven years or so, it's the music from the nightly fireworks spectacular.  biggrin

So, anyway...what's on your phone?? And who else writes/edits their own tones?

Although it's more of an electronic ring. When I don't feel like having it set to that, it goes on vibrate mode. When working in the professional workforce and someone calls you during a meeting it's best to have a ringtone that you don't have to explain.

Very true. That's usually how my phone is set. I only let it go ringy-ring when it's the weekend or something. You can't go wrong with vibrate.

I have the ringer from "24" on my phone. Simple and not overly annoying. I have them both set to vibrate then ring so I usually get to it before the ringing starts. I really don't like all the "kitschy" ringers. It seems like a whole "hey look at me! I have a neat ringer and you don't. Nah Nah!" No offense though.

Just got a Treo, so I suppose I can now edit my own ringtones. Funny thing is, I tend to stick with plain-old phone ringers--musical ringtones annoy me for some reason.

See, I was like that for awhile, but now I find that plain-old phone ringers are annoying and musical ring tones are fresh. I suppose a few months from now I'll have switched back around, lol.

Just snip the part you want from any mp3 and then load it on the phone by cable, infrared, or bluetooth. Most phones can support this if you just install their free software.

So after, what, four days? with my newest ring tone, it's gotten really, really annoying--and I've only heard it about nine times. Looks like it's back to the scoring board...or "Ringity Ringity Roo". Geesh, Nokia has some of the oddest ringers.

I currently have the Manamanah song from the Muppet Show as my ring tone, and R2D2 as my text tone which I changed just today from Darth Vader.

I keep changing my tone every week or so between the following in my gallery:-

Airwolf
Ateam
CHiPs
Different Strokes
Dukes Of Hazzard
Fall Guy
Inspector Gadget
Miami Vice Theme
Knight Rider
Magnum PI
The Muppet Show Theme Tune
Hong Kong Phooey
Scooby Doo - The original 70's one
Manamanh (current tone)
Star Wars Theme.

All are the original songs, not digitised replicas.

This is one of my favourite sites for getting ring tones from :-

http://tv.cream.org/

I also have a few South Park songs that are not exactly suitable as ring tones and a few movie quotes and sounds that I alternate as my text message tones.

I also have the "Whoop Whoop Pull Up" X3 on my phone that I used to have as
a message tone until everyone took the p!$$ out of me for it !!.
