Congratulations to Ivan Basso for his victory in the Giro d'Italia.....professional cyclists are the real tough guys of sport.

Indeed. From the beginning, Basso put the smack in the down and locked position.

The Tour will be interesting....

I'm not what anyone would consider a jock or a sports fan type, but the Tour (what other Tour is there?) is incredible and dramatic from start to finish.

These guys never quit until they crash or they physically cannot continue-completing the Tour is a stellar accomplishment in itself, even if it's last place. If it's on, I'm watching the telly.

I will be most interested in seeing the next great champion emerge, and how the Americans do....I wonder if Lance will be coaching.

The drama is nothing short of amazing...can't wait!

Dougloid, I know what you mean about the drama of the Tour. A friend of mine was one of the team mechanics back in the Motorola days, and worked with Lance quite a bit. He (my friend) wrote a book about it that's really tough to find, but is a great read. It's basically a glimpse of the Tour from a mechanic's perspective.

It's called "Tales From the Toolbox", and I recommend it highly.

It's on order. Thanks for the tip. It'll be here in time for the Tour

I liked the deal about Lance's specially aged tires last year....that was interesting.
