Hurghada, Egypt. Advice Needed.

Wed Jun 07, 2006 12:02 am

Dear all,

I am looking for a cheap holiday during the last week of July. I looked a bit the prices and it turned out that Hurghada is the cheapest sea holiday available from Switzerland. Prices are good starting at 700 Swiss francs all inclusive!

However I'm a bit worried about the temperature there during the end of July... is it "livable" to go to the beach and stay outside? Any advice is welcomed!

Thanks a lot!

Livable if you're a steak on the grille LOL. It's pretty toasty there right now.

I know it can get really hot there... But how about humidity (that can make you suffer more...) or wind (that could help you survive  Big grin)?

Cheers,

Weather Underground has pretty good data on the whole...I hadn't considered humidity. Is Hurghada on the seafront?

Just as long as they have plenty of iced lager and sunscreen and chicks.....

Yes it is! May be windy and therefore easier... but on the other side humidity play a big role!

Hurghada has a dry desert climate all year round and it's blessed with a steady breeze from the coast too. It'll be really hot right now, but the humidity (or lack of) will make it bearable I think.

That said though... take a quick look at this!

hi
i went to hurghada in march this year and although the temperatures wernt as hot as they are currently (nearly 50 in lxr yesterday!!) the destination i found to be amazing, more relaxing than sharm and with easy access to both luxor (4hrs by road) and cairo ( 1hr by air). i would definatly recommend this as a good late escapre destination, you can bathe on the beaches with not too much hassle - i only got a camel man say do i wanna ride, but refused as i didnt kno if it was the camel we was both talking about  Smile anyway i went for a week, all inclusive and cant really say i found any faults with the area.

regards
mark

Thanks a lot for your opinion! I've checked humidity and it should be around 40% with some wind... so it should be ok to go there also during July... hot but ok!  Big grin Anyone else?
