Do U Remember Your First Ever A.Net Post....?

Fri Jun 09, 2006 12:25 am

Do you remember the first time you posted anything on a.net?

Was it a new thread saying "Hello" or were you simply replying to someone elses post?

Well, this crossed my mind today at work, so when I got home I searched the archives to find my first post. It was a discussion regarding FF miles, and I posted on Feb 22nd 2004....
RE: Ever Take A Flight Just To Get The Miles? (by BMIFlyer Feb 22 2004 in Civil Aviation)

So lets see, when was your first post and what was the thread you posted in?

Along these same lines, why didn't AS ever start an ANC-HNL flight? They could have done something with a 73G like AQ. Doesn't have to be daily. I watch HA leave here all the time with a 767 loaded . . . been on board quite a few times . . . beats a connection in SEA or SFO or LAX, etc

Yup.

My first ever post was on a thread in Polls/Prefs asking if anyone worked for an airline. At the time I joined a.net, I was working as reservations supervisor, so...

I'm about 99% sure (without looking) that it was a question in a thread about 757s. A few flights on NW had me convinced that I'd been riding on some old EA birds, just because of the interiors I'd recognized. Came to find out that that would have been impossible due to the types of engines, and that made me more aware of how to look up info on my own without having to resort to plastering the forums with stupid threads.

I do recall the first of ANC's posts that I noticed him, and still chuckle a bit about it.  duck

The MD-90's became obsolete not too long after it was first delivered. Delta saw the NG737's as the future of the airline and the MD-80 replacement. The airplane basically is kept around for some of the noise-sensitive airports. Some one told me that the MD-90's will be retired from the fleet as they near their major maintenance checks.
