Your Favourite Chocolate Bar...

Fri Jun 09, 2006 12:42 am

Hey Guys,
So whats your favourite chocolate bar?...If you eat chocolate that is.
My all time favourite are Mars Delights, just such a different taste alltogether! There's no other bar like it!

Cadbury's Caramel (Or Dairy Milk with Caramel, as it is now known).

I also used to love Wispa Gold's, but they no longer exist.

I love a Snickers and a Nestle Crunch, but a Mr Goodbar makes my mouth water.

I did recieve a gift basket of European chocolates once, and I cant remember the name, but there was a package of Belgian truffles that were the best chocolate I have ever tasted, my wife and I were both speechless. There was a Swiss candy bar that was almost as good. If only I had saved the wrappers!

...And I'm referring to what's made in Bourneville, UK (I've been to the factory) and not by Nestle.

Cadbury's 5 kg Dairy Milk bar. It costs £28, but it's worth it! The last one I brought home from England sort of freaked out the U.S. Customs folks.  Big grin

We used to drink Milo years ago in Malaya. I haven't heard of it since, in fact I'd completely forgotten about it.

Chocolate bar
Lindt 74% to 80% (I've had higher but it didn't work)

Confectionary involving chocolate
Kit-kat (in a foil wrapper  Smile though the "chunky" peanut one is nice )
Twix
"Merresson"... sorry, Snickers
Mars Delight

I can't think of anything that hasn't been mentioned.

Hmmm - a philosopical conundrum.

For everyday consumption, it's got to be Snickers (mmm)

As a treat from the English shop in Antibes, now and again, a Star Bar (mmmmmm)

For inexcusable decadence, Milk Chocolate Lindors (MMMMMMM)

For dunking in hot coffee, either a Twix, or Cadbury's Whole Nut, or (if you can get it, Mint Crisp (MMMMMMMMMMMM)

Best ordinary chocolate with nothing added, Green and Black Milk Chocolate (I think that's what it's called, its organic, you get it in England). (MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM)

Mmmmmm, choocolaateeee !!!

Brits are best at Chocolate Bars, or any form of sweets, puddings and cakes for that matter so Cadbury's Bournville it is.

I would like to humbly offer for consideration the very addictive 'SKOR' bar made by Hershey's:

Chocolate bars? Try telling that to the Swiss and Belgians! I'm not a big fan of British "chocolate" (or "vegolate" as some of our European neighbours like to call it  Smile ). Confectionary, yes, but not the chocolate itself. I much prefer dark chocolate to milk but Bourneville just tastes "sweet" to me. In fact, this thread's reminded me I have a bar of Lindt left... for about an hour.

I am a big fan of Leonidas, but they don't make chocolate bars, alas. I will take you comments to heart and do the following right away:

1. Load up on Valrhona, Ghirardelli, Nestle, Lindt, and Godiva chocolate bars.
2. Get an insulin stick ready
3. Taste test all of the above.

We don't get Bourneville here so that'll have to wait.

Any tips welcome!

When you do, get a small bar. Once you've compared it to Lindt, etc., you want need any more Bourneville.  Smile

I usually get them at the cigarette counter at Asda but you know what it's like - you go to buy some Kit-kat and they have this big display of cigarettes in your face so I can't resist buying some.
