This Girl Is Looking For Parents

Fri Jun 09, 2006 5:34 am

I just thought I'd share this link from another website, from a girl who is looking for adoptive parents. From her letter, it looks like she's had a rough ride in the foster care system in Los Angeles County. Anyone in California who would think of adopting a teenager?

That is one hell of a story  Sad

So sad to see a person having to grow up under those circumstances.

she had better be VERY careful!

there's alot of BAD people that would love to "adopt" a teen like her.

i wish her well.

Gosh her writing style is that of a much more grown up and mature person.
I'm impressed and wish her the best, although I have serious doubt about her getting "parents" like this, heck I'm having a very hard time in the real world looking for a girl that I like and that I can trust... forget about finding parents online!
But anyway she looks like a sweet girl and maybe she'll get along well with anyone who is interested, with a bit of luck and, most of all, patience. I think she'll get there.

I dunno. It seems pretty weird. Maybe she just wants a family to put her through college. I can't imagine a teen doing such a thing.

Hmmm. I'll take her in. She's cute and after all, in two more years.....

It's interesting that there are other sources of evidence of her story. It's a shame she will not likely get an adoptive family. I'd offer, but I just can't imagine that I'm ready for a teenager yet, and that she'd want to move all the way across the country. While not the ideal situation, she is apparently staying with a friend, and while they are not adopting her, she doe have something of a home.

I get the feeling that something about her story doesn't add up. Also, why so many pictures in her essay? In any case, few families are willing to adopt teenagers. If there's no monkey business going on here, I wish her the best of luck.

The thing is she's not really a teenager. If you read her page and follow her links you'll see that she sounds more mature then a teenager. She sounds like someone with a lot of will, confidence, realism and very stable and solid character. She also grew up in a system that makes you learn to be independant and live without parents and that either makes you or brakes you.
Frankly if I took her in (that's a if because I have no home, no stable income and am a bit too young anyway...) I believe that she'll end up the one coaching me.

So think again  Smile

No offense, she sounds like the type that will file suit against any permanent parents if they don't do what she wants...

The only common thread about her bad experiences is her...

I smell as scam....
