Nice Job, Poland.

Sat Jun 10, 2006 7:47 am

A 2-0 loss to Ecuador keeps polish World Cup dreams consistent. Hey, at least you didn't get rolled by Togo, Costa Rica, the Ivory Coast, or Angola (yet). Next time, show up with a game plan.

I hope they play like that in their next game against the Germans.

I expected more from the Polska nation.

Id say the Ivory Coast is no joke, Drogba can take out whole teams by himself.

It was horrible horrible form. However, the sh!t fest started when we lost 1-2 to Colombia 2 weeks ago. Just a continuation of that struggle.

One match we do good. (Just beat Croatia 1-0), one match we suck. (1-2 Colombia.)

The main problem is, no motivation. Oh yes, and our head coach is a douchebag.

It sounds as if you are talking about my team  Silly

Anyway, you've already seen it and I still have no idea what will happen on Sunday. They might be good and use the fact that Dutch have problems with injuries or they might look just like Poland yesterday.

How much more motivation is needed? Today it seemed Poland didn't realise that they weren't playing a holiday game, but at the world cup...

But I am sure you will do better against us... (I still hope we win, of course, but Poland can do better than today)

I mean spiritual motivation or something like that. There is no real team leader like Rosicky, Ballack, Ibrahimovic, Donovan etc etc.

For starters, they will play better...simply because you just cant play any worse than against Ecuador.

Sure, but I was suggesting he can't be that big a football fan if he feels the WC is better than the Super Bowl. And I wasn't being completely serious either.  Wink

What's wrong with these side? Nothing. Any country that has made it to the World Cup Finals, deserve respect.

Yes I am. I'm probably a bigger fan than you are. I go to Vikings games all the time, I have Vikings clothing and I watch the games all the time. I don't think I ever miss a Vikings game. I feel that makes me a big fan of American football. I still watch the Super Bowl, but I feel that the World Cup is way better than the Super Bowl. Saying that does not mean I am not an American football fan. You should also take this lightly so you do not accuse me of being too serious or that I should "calm down."  Wink

LOT, seriously wtf are you talking about? And judging by your ongoing far-off-incorrect predictions I would assume you haven't the slightest clue...

I don't know why everybody is bad-mouthing Poland so bad, people assuming that was Polands guaranteed win and we didn't live up to the expectation. As if.
I believed (patriotism aside) that Poland played very well. Their possesion play and passing was spot on and accurate. And their defense was better than everybody is giving them credit for. Yes the first goal was brilliant, but I believe the second was slightly less so, due to most of the Poles stopping in the assumption that it was off-side.
Overall, Poland played well, although obviously they hesitated with their shots on goal in the futile attempt of closing-in the distance before shooting. I belive they should have taken more chances from around the box, rather than try and walk into goal with the ball.

In the last 10 minutes or so, Poland stepped up to the plate by presssuring and pushing forward, time after time after time. Proof as two shots nearly went in. Although as the Australian commentator said, "Poland just can't seem to get lucky tonight".

So although Ecuador played brillaintly, I believe that Poland did so too, with the exception of them being able to put finishing touch. People seem to forget that Ecuador finished third in their qualifing campaing behind BRAZIL & ARGENTINA. So the're no walk in the park.

LHMark, "show up with a game plan", making stupid comments like you have the World Cup won already. pfft
I look forward to the Germany-Poland match. (i'm not very confident for Poland, though I still look forward to the match)
