12 days to go.

Question: What time does everyone intend to be at the AVP?

I have to go to South Wales on Sat afternoon so I will be attending the AVP in the morning.

Don't forget the link to Lew's website http://www.tfsphoto.com/manmeet.php

Quoting Rodge (Reply 1):

It was said once everyone arrived, the plans are to go to Level 13 on the car park to join up with the others at a predetermined time.

Any decision from the organiser as to what will be the predetermined time?

Well, personally, I shall go to Level 13 as soon as I arrive. Which will be around the 9am mark.

Will do the same... is there not the chance of going to the Airport Pub for the meet due to the fact that they sell Alcohol, Food, its free entry... AND we wont need to worry about transport to the AVP Big grin

Whats happened at past meets is every one heads down to the airport pub later in the afternoon after having been to the AVP, not sure what the protocol will be this year though with people looking to meet on L13 etc...

OK

Just wondering what to do here.
There will be myself, My lad Simon ( formerly known as Eurotrans 3111) and my Partner John ...yes he,s finally woke up and realised what he's been missing all this time  Wink .
We should arrive early Saturday Morning. Im still trying to sort out the hotel at the moment. Bewley's are booked solid so no chance there Sad.
I will have room for 1 possibly 2 people in my car if transport is needed at a push for any reason.

Hey TFS
Would certainly like to join in the meal at the Romper if possible. I know this is a bit late but I,ve only just joined back up with Anet after months away .
If its possible, it'll mean 3 extra mouths to feed.
Now to get that hotel sorted.. I hope!!  crossfingers  .
Will let you know a.s.a.p. I hope I don't run into any problems.
SEE YA'LL THERE

Change of plan for me, will now only be there on the Saturday and don't think I'll be attending the meal either. Also, not stopping in the hotel overnight anymore. Think another attendee may also have the same change to make but I'll leave them to confirm this for themselves!

Lew, please could you update my details on the list the next time you have a trawl through?

My folks, being the paranoid and overly overprotective people that they are (somewhat understandably since this is the first time Ive been turned loose alone to wreak havoc on other countries  Wink ) decided to rent me an international cell phone for my trip, and I just got it today...its a UK-based number, if any of you guys want it to coordinate stuff in case I get lost or stranded or somethin like that after arrival in MAN, PM me and I'll pass it along...

Almost time, gettin psyched here!

Change of plan for me too. I am now unable to attend the meal at The Romper. [Sound of cheering and whoops of delight from the spotty young youths who are attending the meal!]

Lew, could you please amend the list, and Alex please accept my apologies for pulling out after having previously confirmed.

Many thanks

Thank you for the offer, but if I add any more aviation related "junk" (her words, not mine!) to the stuff I already hoard, then I fear a divorce may be imminent. Big grin

Well it looks like I shall still have the Merc for the meet, as my car is in for another 3 weeks.

Are we doing the same as AMS and "shuttling" people from L13 to the AVP? I also don't mind joining Dave (Capital146) at the terminal to meet and greet.

RODOL has emailed to ask to remove his name from the list, he said he may make an appearance but most likely not.

Nah, just fiercely independant and reluctant to actually appear to be pandering to the Euro - bankers (Yes, bankers. I was tempted but my natural decorum overrode me! Big grin)

Besides, if the UK goes Euro, we'll have to follow suit and then my cushy life in this tax-haven will come to an end.  wideeyed

Anyway, I might have to go into Manchester when i come over, not sure yet. In which case I'll make my own way to the AVP. Maybe.

Well fellas, I am finally across the pond and in one piece...haven't slept in about 28 hours or so cause I got no sleep on the overnight transatlantic haul EWR-FRA on LH's 744 "City of Dortmund"...flight FRA-LCY on an LH/Augsburg Airways Dash-8-300 was amazing, that LCY approach freakin rocks! (and fast service there too, from time I stepped off the plane to when I stepped outside (which included checked baggage collection), was all of under 10 minutes...insane!!

It's good to be back in Merry Olde England, Im writing from a net cafe in Islington right now...now I gotta go back to my hotel and catch some deserved Z's...and these UK keyboards are impossible to type on, QWERTY order aside, its different and confusing as all heck....

See you guys in MAN soon!!

Just wanted to point out that I didn't forget to ask about the free Concorde tour. Sadly we're now only alowed on board her as part of an official tour due to insurance purposes, that sucks really. That also goes for the RJ100 and DC10.

I've also just confirmed the table for Saturday evening. Currently it's booked for 20 people and even though I've looked at Lew's website, I can't quite figure how many people are actually going. Little help?

I'll be at MAN early on the 1st July also, so I'll be with Dave meeting and greeting.

The 10 day weather forecast (most probably useless) is saying that it will be partly cloudy on the 1st with a high of 20c.

Sunrise: 4:45
Sunset: 21:41
Avg. High: 19°C
Avg. Low: 11°C

Who shall (les eaux) have the misfortunate of sharing a room with a.net's resident fool, aka UTA_fartingloud?

Also if someone could please kick his ass properly on my behalf as I shall (les eaux) be in a proper city on that day.

You's do realise that when England beat Equador this Sunday, they will play either Portugal or Holland at 4pm BST on the Saturday afternoon? Is this when the mass-exodus to the pub begins???

That would be me. But he doesn't know I snore, yet.

And I still didn't pay him, he won't accept pound sterling. I'll bring some nice Belgian EUROs for him.

PS. Runway, do spell, what am I to expect?  cry
