A Great British Train Journey (report With Pics)

Thu Jun 29, 2006 2:46 am

Well, a couple of weeks ago, I came up with the Idea of taking a trip to Penzance, and so invited fellow a.netter "MYT332" (Alex) along for the ride. Because I work for one of the biggest transport (Bus, Rail) companies in the world, I have a few travel perks similar to ID tickets on airlines, so I got us a very good deal on rail tickets to the far south west  Wink

So anyway, we came up with a plan and on June 12th, we headed off on our journey south  Wink

First stop, we had an "evening out"  Wink with "Dazultra" (Daz) and "Jamotcx" (James), at the MAN airport pub Big grin

Later on, after our final voyage in the "Chariot of Bass"  cry  we headed to see "Trekster" (Dan) at his place  Smile

Alex is pointing to the words "I have a bomb" written on his baggage tag, lol  duck

Anyway, the following day (june 13th), off we go to Picadilly station for our Voyage to the coast Big grin

After collecting the tickets, we boarded the 1st class car on the Pendolino tilting train to London Euston......

Alex browses the menu

Me

Alex again

At last - lunch

After arrival into Euston

We crossed London to Paddington.....

Finally, we board the "eye" for our "Flight"  Wink

Later on, its off into London for some food and beer and cocktails Big grin

We spotted these 2 "performers" from 'Spearmint Rhino' (gentlemens club)  eyepopping

Our Destination - TGI Fridays Big grin

I didn't shower for 5 days actually. I cleaned my teeth in the loo's onboard the train.

I'll have to say, I'm not a train spotter either. This thread is unfortunate for me! Oh dear!

Had a good time though, thanks Lee. Mostly good pics. I.E. The ones without me! Big grin

Not a word about the 3/4 pants... I had nothing clean left by day 4 Kaz.

Great Report my friend! Gotta love the trains . . .

They must be getting short handed on the rail service there in the UK however . . .
