Car Mods And Extreme Climates

Thu Jun 29, 2006 9:59 pm

As you may or may noy know by now, I purchased a Civic coupé two weeks ago.

Since then it has undergone the following enhancements :

195/50R15 wheel/tyre package
Sparco front strut bar
Superchips (r) ECU
OMP Group N brhaake pads
Sparco pedals

I am now thinking of adding the following :
Eibach -30mm lowering springs
Kingdragon direct admission air filter
Remus exhaust

I am however hesitating for the latter as Tunisian climates may be a little too extreme for a direct admission and a lowered vehicle.

Thoughts ?

Your own government says thus:
http://foreignaffairs.gov.ie/service...veladvice/TravelAdvice-Tunisia.asp

"Visitors to Tunisia should be extremely careful driving on Tunisian roads, where traffic can be fast and erratic. Pedestrians should also exercise a high degree of caution, particularly when crossing roads and regardless of whether there is a signal allowing pedestrians to cross."

I feel you should apply all the possible enhancements that'll help you to leave the accident scene with as much haste as you can summon.

If the roads in Tunisia are bad(and I'm presuming they are...) expect a bone jarring ride with the lowering springs....

I also happen to have an FIA license. If you want how real drivers drive, come to see me in Europe where roads actually have turns and where we know how to hell-and-toe.

But seriously, you drive a Civic - no matter how much work you put into it, Civic ¹ Race Car.

There's a category in Group N/FN for cars up to 1.6 liters of displacement. Guess which make/model is always on the podium  Wink
