I searched on Yahoo or Google for some LAX pictures because I just returned from there before signing up here, I found the LAX airport overview pretty impressive when I departed from there, so I was curious if there are any more pictures.

Too bad that I also found the Non Aviation Forum.  Wink

I searched "airliners" on AOL back before any other search engines existed... found a site with a pic of a 747 on a starry dark blue back ground... the good old days!

Well, since nobody else has, I suppose I'll be the one to correct the spelling, since everyone in Non-av seems to be oh so good at it.

I don't recall how I found airlines.net , but I found airliners.net by looking for plane photos.

I think the photos section is a huge draw. I'll come out of the closet and say the real reason I found a.net was before I went to St. Maarten in '02 I was looking at sites about the island and saw some small pix showing Maho Beach and went searching for more. Voila! I didn't even look at the forums for another year or so.

On my last visit to Florida, we stayed at the MCO Hyatt because of a 0600 departure time. Our room overlooked the active departure runway(s) and I spent most of the evening on the little patio watching the movements. The hotel "spotting" was the critical mass on a looong-dormant aviation fascination and when I got home, I went in search of photos of MCO and PHL and all that goodness. On dial-up, no less!  Wink Guess what I found...that other site! Big grin No, really, I found this one.  Wink

Same here. I just stopped by to view the latest photos, completely ignoring the message boards. Then I started reading and, well, here I am, lol.

Nice pic! She is sho hot!

On a serious note, I had just got back from IFP after taking some shitty pics with a point and shoot and was talking to my good friend (and future Senator and probably President) Jonathan M Karl about it and how close you can get to the aircraft and he told me about this site.

I had been an aviation fan for years as a younger guy, and kind of fell out of it for 20 years or so. One day at work about two years ago, I decided to Google "Boeing 747" and the rest is pretty self-explanatory.

A friend and I were searching for pictures of two obsolete airliners in the livery of a defunct airline for another friend who did not have a computer. We did not find such a thing on this site but we did bookmark it.

Today this database has only a few such pictures. Funny how some airplanes weren't photographed very often.

Around 2000, 2001 I was booked to fly Delta Express, I wanted to see what airplen they flew.

Went online and a search for Delta L1011 came up and I saw picture of DL L1011 from this site.

Went back and looked for about 3 yrs, then I found the forums.

I started looking for photos on the Internet of Boeing 747s in the summer of 1997, and eventually found this site.

I was trying to find photos of 747s in every airline that has operated them (past and present).

I finally joined on January 20, 2004!

It had the copyright bar with the URL attached, so I came here looking for more pics. A couple of days later I found the forums, and the rest is history.

So far the majority has Googled "747", not A380.  duck

I saw a pic on CollegeHumor.com of a modified airliner photo that still had the tag line on it. The rest is history. Except what hasn't happened yet. That's the future.
