Morales Fails To Win Majority In Assembly

Tue Jul 04, 2006 10:17 am

Santa Cruz Region overwhelmingly approves referedendum on further autonomy, which may create severe strains between Morales nationalist views from an indigenous line and the more euro-centric Santa Cruz region.

Whatever is in the best interest of Bolivia and at the same time goes against Evo Morales, I'm all for it.

If people thought the independentist movement in Santa Cruz had died down ever since the last crisis, next few months could be quite interesting in the formation of a new country in South America.

Despite him winning 52% of the Constitutional Assembly, he is way far from the 66% needed to approve the new constitution.

I hope Bolivians realize that Morales will take them deeper into poverty just like Chavez is doing with Venezuela.

Morales is closely following Chavez's "recipe for destruction"...
