Where is the trip report? Did you travel east bound or west bound? What was the mileage from origination to destination? What was the car type? WHat meal did you get at Walmart? Was there a choice? Did you you use coupons? Were all the lights green? Were you welcomed by an old man or old woman? Were the check-out people nice (you know how some are)? Did you use a basket or cart?

Too many questions to ask.

BTW....GREAT satire!!!!!

Someone is real desperate; going from Tempe to shop in Mesa at a Wal-Mart..Ah yes, Mesa, Arizona (or is it Northern Mexico) another city that time forgot, but it is the Wal-Mart capital of Arizona with seven or eight stores.

Scary part is that I have been in that Wal-Mart.

It was 1996 and I was down there on what by then was obviously the "Vacation from Hell" with the girl my dog would eventually replace.

The reason I was down there was that we where going to an airshow/race over at Williams, however we got down there and found out the racing portion of it had been canceled because they couldn't get their insurance.

Nice report,

however, a little disappointed you didn't go over every little stinking detail like everyone else does in their TR's (what time you got up, the song on the radio, toothpaste you used, what brand of waffles for breakfast, etc)  Big grin

By the way, are there any good looking people in Mesa??

That's cool. I did my first solo at Williams Gateway. The GM proving ground track is pretty impressive to look at from the air.

.....So, anyone care to speculate on what happened to that palm tree I took a photo of in the Walmart parking lot? Kinda looks like it got struck by lightning. It's nothing but a tall stump.

I know where that particular Walmart is, and it isn't exactly the nicest part of town. Having grown up in Mesa all those pictures are a too familiar sight of a rather bland city (it was founded by Mormons afterall), with bland people. But using a Walmart as a sample of the people does skew your impression of the place negatively. As a result I find it is best to outright avoid Walmarts... the things you find inside will scare you.
