Hezbollah And Fascist Symbolism?

Sat Jul 15, 2006 2:01 pm

They salute like Nazis. They goosestep like Nazis. They're obviously not Aryan. So why do they embrace the Nazi symbolism?

Are any of the pictures above actually the Lebanese military, or is it only Hezbollah - I honestly don't know, and I'd like to make sure the thread title matches what is in the thread.

Much of the the Lebanese government IS Hezbollah. That's what the news has been saying for a few days. That's why the Lebanese government is having a tough time controlling Hezbollah.

Hezbollah And Fascist Symbolism?

Only three pictures you posted there are of Hezbollah.

The two in the first row, and the last one. Wherever you see the yellow flags.

The picture on the 2nd row, 2nd column, with the people carrying the white flag with the Cedar and a red circle around it is the Lebanese Forces (Qowaat Al Lubnaniya), a strong Lebanese Christian party. Note the pointed cross on some of the flags. During the civil war, they were armed, but they are not now.

No Lebanese military in any of the pictures you showed.

No, they are not.

Hezbollah holds 14 out of the 128 parliament seats and has only 2 cabinet members in the 24-member parliament.

They've said before that Hitler did the right thing with the Jews. The Arabs were largely firmly on the German side during WWII.

The goosestep was not unique to the Nazis. Interestingly, virtually every dictatorship from Mussolini to the USSR, North Korea and Red China do it. Interesting to see what the psychological motivation behind it is.

Thanks for that - that's what I thought - I've changed the thread title - I'm assuming it was an innocent mistake, and not an attempt at trolling...

Then Lebanon needs to get rid of them.

And what of the symbolism? You have not addressed that.

The key here is the similar goals Hezbollah and the Nazis had.

You want Lebanon to rise to the jewel it can be? Start cutting out the cancer like these foreign controlled terrorists.

I wish the "good" people of Lebanon peace. Too bad they are in the minority and will allow their country to be blown to bits be another country that is tired of this nonsense.

On a more calmer note - BA, your updates and love for all things that are good in Lebanon is to be admired. I hope the best for the peace loving people in your country but it does not look good.

During the last elections, Hezbollah got less than 15% of the total votes of the people.

This means that, the people does not support Hezbollah!

But they allow them to stay and operate as they do. Why? Lebanon is letting them destroy all that Lebanon has achieved over the past 10 years.

Seems to me, a giant step backwards. Put preasure on these radicals and the "pain" inflicted by Israel would probably ease.

It kind of reminds me of the unemployed brother-in-law that came to stay for a few days. He was given free run of the house. Now he's made himself at home and no one has the balls to tell him to get out.

Hence the Israeli show of force. The Lebanese have to get their shit together and disarm Hezbollah, or else the entire country will suffer.

It is the duty of every nation, and specifically every government to ensure that private armies don't crop up and start declaring their own wars against neighboring countries.

What do you think would happen if some Mexican gangs or (God Forbid) rogue elements of the Mexican army started lobbing shells over the Rio Grande, or crossing the border to kidnap National Guard or Border Patrol personnel and holding them for ransom? M1 tanks would be rolling south within a week.

Folks, if you want to discuss the relationship between Lebanon and Hezbollah, you are welcome to start another thread about it (or use an existing one, though I don't believe there is one from a brief look at the index). This thread is asking about the use of Fascist symbolism by Hezbollah. If you do not want to discuss that, kindly don't post in this thread.

Israel is aiming at the wrong target. The problem is not Lebanon but Syria and Iran. Why they don't target Iran for example, are they too afraid?

For 30 years, the whole region has fought the wars in Lebanon. It's more than enough. If you have the balls, take it elsewhere!

I suggested deletion.
This Thread is trying to construct a non existing link between Lebanon and fascism to vindicate the aggression against another state.
Sorry, but this idea is stuppid.

The Hezbollah is a terrible terroristic organisation, but they are no Nazis. To fight against terrorists is one thing, but to attack another state, killing hundreds of innocent civilians is unacceptable. Your thread is senseless.

I have some jewish friends here. They are enraged about the actions of Israel.
Escalation of violence, the inclusion of innocents, never solved the aggresion of the terrorists.

There is the popular motto which is also loved in the US:

"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
Innocents? Never mind! Let`s have ten thousands of eyes and teeth."

Axel
