That Enron CEO Did Not Die!

Mon Jul 17, 2006 4:36 am

Lay, 64, died of a heart attack July 5 while vacationing with his wife, Linda, in Aspen, Colo., more than four months before he was to be sentenced for fraud and conspiracy. A jury convicted Lay and former Enron chief executive Jeffrey Skilling on May 25 for lying to investors and employees about the financial health of the energy company before it collapsed in 2001.

At least two Web sites merrily eschew all evidence that Lay indeed died of heart disease — including a statement from the Colorado coroner who performed an autopsy. Helping to fuel the conspiracy theories was the Lay family's decision to cremate the body.

One conspiracy theory finds it a little too convenient that former Secretary of State Colin Powell was treated for altitude sickness at the same Aspen hospital where Lay was pronounced dead the day before. Powell was in the resort town to participate in a panel discussion, but the theory purports that he was actually there to bring Lay passports, other ID and an escape plan.

And if you believe that Colin Powell or anyone from the present or past Bush administration would take part in getting Ken Lay out of the country I have a bridge in Arizona I'd love to sell you.

Move on with your life and just let the piece of crap RIP.

Hey my thread wasn't meant to be political, I really didn't even think abot that.

I just found it funny that such a short time after this happened, there are already multiple 'alternative' histories to this event.

It makes you wonder if we should trust any 'history' in the history books whatsoever.

Powell is a bit too moderate to do something like that.

Just a bunch of mentally unstable folks who need to tighten the tin foil hats around their head some more.

Hell, I just was in Denver and I got altitude sickness when I went up to Rocky Mountain National Park. I suppose had I been near Aspen then perhaps they could have implicated me as well given my support for the GOP in the past and my governmental connections. Hmmmm.....makes you wonder.

If anything, Bush might have given Lay a pardon upon leaving office but after the fiasco with Bubba and Mark Rich I even doubt that would have happened. Lay made his bed, got caught, and was hung out to dry by anyone who might have been chummy with him and possibly even had the chance to swa his trial or get him out of trouble. At the end of the day Lay got what he deserved for screwing the stockholders and got off lucky by dying in his sleep versus the good old fashioned tar and feathering he deserved.

You present it as fact and never offer your opinion of it until challenged. Now you back away and say you were just posting stuff and that other folks believe it. Whatever.

Wow, that is complete and utter BS.

What really happened is Bush had him assasinated by the people who secretly fitted the missiles to the planes used on 9/11.

Get your facts straight, people.  Yeah sure

Yes Ken Lay is alive and well, going to work for Bush and advise him on balancing the budget!

Having Colin Powel deliver false documents is like throwing a brick through a stained glass window.

As if anyone wouldn't notice him leaving the country, particularly not with the amount of people who are pissed off over Enron

Did you also hear about United Airlines buying A380s? Yep, a report from Toulouse stated UA placed a firm order for 10 sparkling new A380s. The first one is sched. for delivery in early 2008.
