W Has A New Neighbor

Fri Jul 28, 2006 8:46 pm

Cindy Sheehan uses insurance money from son's death to buy property in Crawford!

CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) -- War protesters will have a new and bigger gathering place when they return in August to President Bush's adopted hometown: a 5-acre lot bought with insurance money Cindy Sheehan received after her son was killed in Iraq.

Gerry Fonseca, a fellow war protester who acted as Sheehan's agent, said he recently bought the vacant lot about a mile from downtown Crawford -- and about 7 miles from Bush's ranch -- for $52,500. About half the land is pasture, and the other half is woods, he said.

"If Cindy Sheehan came to town, I don't think anybody would have sold her any property," Fonseca, of Eagle Rock, Missouri, said Thursday.

Well, I hope she enjoys Texas after Bush leaves office in two years. Maybe then she can put a headstone on her son's grave. You know, that son she voluntarily gave up custody of in a divorce when he was a small child. The one she hardly spent a day with before he was killed. Yeah, that same one that made her a celebrity by getting killed.

What life is she going to have when Bush leaves office? Her celeb friends are not likely to hang around with her once the TV cameras leave.

Are you saying that she discovered her great love for this child only after he died in a war she already did not like and was working against?

Are you implying she's using his death as a launching pad for her own aggrandizement? That her marriage was a sham that even her husband refused to acknowledge when she went ballistic and was used by the left?

But she's a grieving mother.........c'mon....let her say what she wants without criticism no matter what she says or whom she supports.

She's famous now...she was with Hugo while he was negotiating for more Cubans to come over and to buy Russian hardware he doesn't need....she was line dancing with Cynthia McKinney the other night during the primary election....she's a real player now.

I wonder what her own family thinks of her.

Just a little more than 2 years left. The phone calls and diiners with Robbins, Sarandon, assorted Hollyweird glitterati, and leftist world leaders will stop the second Dubya turns over the office to the next President in January 2009.

Very true but as the Devil's Advocate I must point out the Right is just as guilty as the Left of pulling stunts like this one. At the end of the day she is still a moonbat being used by the Dubya haters and peaceniks. Those celebrity phone calls will soon dry up for her.

Sheehan is an attention whore and hypocrite of the first magnitude who is shamelessly using her son's death to gain the notoriety she craves.

I don't know her personally, but from what I've seen, and the people she supports I can comfortably state that her politics are not new to her, nor is her willingness to attack her own country for the actions of terrorists.

No, Mr. Bush's actions have resulted in thousands of deaths, whereas (as far as I know), Ms. Sheehan's have resulted in none. I guess it is kind of hard to compare those two...

Perhaps, but no more disingenuous than being SHOCKED, SHOCKED I SAY, that someone might suggest that the personal worth/value of Cindy Sheehan is on a similar level as that of George W. Bush. When you call one of them a "piece of trash," you shouldn't expect your comment to engender respect for the other.

Yes, in an utterly incompetent and foolhardy manner, as we all know there was no real connection between Iraq and 9/11 or any other attack on our nation.

Utterly incompetent and foolhardy is a matter for debate. I think he's been doing that which is necessary to ensure the spread of democracy down the road. Everyone seems to have forgotten that he said it was a long, difficult and sacrifice ridden road.

Quoting DrDeke (Reply 29):

Unnecessary is another matter for debate. Afghanistan certainly seemed necessary. Are you saying he was wrong for that? If not then he's not completely incompetent by your own standards.

As far as connections between Iraq and any attack on our nation tell me why Iraq was harboring Abu Nidal prior to the war (when he was assassinated in Baghdad).

I find it odd how everyone thinks it's great to completely smear a private citizen who happens to have gotten active in politics, but is expressing views contrary to yours. But if you question the President, who is not a private citizen, but a public political figure, then you will argue and argue and argue in his defence and act aghast that someone would compare the two. You were saying they did not have anything to do with any attack on our nation and I was simply disproving the absoluteness of what you were saying. They had attacked us before and certainly sponsored terrorists in various ways.

Quoting DrDeke (Reply 33):
Afghanistan? We aren't talking about Afghanistan, we are talking about Cindy Sheehan.

You started talking about President Bush and whether he's been completely warrantless in his military conduct. I once again sought to prove that your absolutes were incorrect, so the question is where does the hyperbole end and truth begin. When people make grand and impossible to prove statements argument enters.

Quoting DrDeke (Reply 33):
I find it odd how everyone thinks it's great to completely smear a private citizen who happens to have gotten active in politics,

She "happened" to get active in politics. You're saying she wasn't active at a much lower level prior to this? Are you saying she's above reproach for her repugnant associations and self servancy?

Quoting DrDeke (Reply 33):
But if you question the President, who is not a private citizen, but a public political figure, then you will argue and argue and argue in his defence and act aghast that someone would compare the two. To me, it smacks of hypocrisy.

Criticize all you want. However don't get mad when people counter your arguments. And please don't cry "censorship" when someone argues with you.

QFF....we actually did not fire the first shots there. The reasoning and argument was that Iraq had not met the conditions set to end the previous conflict....indeed they violated them on several occasions the penalties for which were laid out and clear. They fired on our airplanes, they played footsie with the inspectors (when they really should have just said..."ok, go look anywhere and we won't screw with you), and they violated the sanctions over and over again. They started this when they invaded Kuwait in 1990, and they never really stopped.

I'm just making it clear that there are other arguments out there that are not based on anger or hysteria.
