This might help you.

I think you ARE allowed, as long as you declare it.

Generally, you are allowed to bring in most cheeses to most countries since they are considered "processed" products.

You can also use:

Canadian Food Inspection Agency and see if your product requires anything special 'certification'.

Yes.

My folks live on Campobello Island, New Brunswick. They are 8 miles from the Canada-US border. They cross over almost daily.

My mom does the majority of her shopping in Maine (US). She says cheese is not a problem.

So, yes you can bring cheese.

This does not apply to Canada - but is a funny story regarding cheese and airline travel.

Back in April when my parents came to visit me in Houston they bought cheese from one of the stores at the airport before leaving. Anyway, to make a longer story short, they had a visit from the drug sniffing dog at IAH, who thought that the cheese may have been some kind of narcotic Big grin

Cheese is no problem at all, within reason. There have been cases at customs where people have tried to import over 150 lbs of cheese "for persona use". There is a limit on dairy products, but a cheese ring should be no problem at all. I THINK the limit is 10 lbs, but don't quote me on it.

Be sure to declare it, and it would be a guda (sorry, couldn't resist) idea to keep it in the original packaging if at all possible.
