BERLIN -- It was easy money for a German lunch-hour crowd.
Police said that a drunken man in a western German town withdrew nearly $17,000 in cash from his bank account Tuesday and started giving it away to passers-by.
Police said the 63-year-old man, whose name was not released, had money stuffed in plastic bags and in his pockets.
He was down to about $1,900 when police got to him.
Police said the man told them he "didn't care because he had enough."
Police were holding the money and said they would give it back when the man sobered up.
