The Ultimate Coca-Cola And Pepsi Thread

Thu Aug 10, 2006 10:44 pm

First of all, this thread shouldnt' be about arguing which one is better, so no C or P flamewars please  Smile

I'd be more interested in which flavours are available in your country and which you like the most or whether are you addicted to such beverages or not. My private little theory is that there must be some addictive drug in Coke for sure...

Well, AFAIK Coca Cola used to be made with Cocaine, or at least with Coca leaves, hence the name. But when Cocaine got outlawed, CC had to change the formula to the addictive one they got now.

Yes, I am a Coca Cola junkie. No day is complete for me without at least a can of Coke.  bigthumbsup

Their latest annual report shows that Coca-Cola are losing market share, partly to Pepsi but also to other manufacturers.

I remember when this catastrophe happened.

Within a few days of its debut, people had bought up every last can and bottle of remaining original Coke. Some stores were selling it at a premium. The highest price I saw was $12 for a 12-pack of 12-ounce cans.

I really like Coke Zero at the moment; I get the best of both worlds! Healthy (well, compared to normal Coca Cola), yet it tastes good.

Speaking with some knowledge. I work in a small gorcery store. On average the coke rep delivers product twice a week whilst the pepsi rep is here once every other week and there is still plenty on the shelves. My manager said that coke sells something like 2-1 at my work.

So...My favourite Cokes and Pepsis are:

1. Coca Cola Sango (available in Belgium and Luxemburg only)
2. Diet Pepsi Vanilla (USA version, maybe in UK too)
3. Diet Coke with Lime
4. Pepsi Max Coffee Cino (from UK or Ireland without sugar)

But unfortunately any of this tastes are not available in Czech where do I live, so I have to import all the time from my trips to other countries or ask my friends...

And my cans collection from all around the world:

May I ask what this Coca-Cola Sango stuff is? I never heard of it before.

And yes, I am also a huge soda fan, Mountain Dew Code Red is my absolute favourite. Fellow A.netter DL021 sent me two 12 packs directly from Atlanta via UPS to my apartment last year! Great, isn't it.  bigthumbsup

You do that. I know I haven't seen any of the no-caffeine cans in your collection.

I used to love coca-cola, but while being 3 weeks in Dominican Republic, I developed nasty caffeine disorder, which makes me throw up after drinking it. Noscious and stuff, so I'm glad Belgium has a no-caffeine variety..

And I used to love coffee, now it's decaf dor me, just for the taste...  Sad

Its in sweeteners which are used...

Coca Cola Zero (from USA, UK, Australia) is similar to european Coca Cola light (use same sweeteners)...But now they launched Coca Cola Zero in Germany also, where is Coca Cola light on market, so its very similar products, just with different packing (and marketing strategies)...

Zero and Light are similar products (no sugar) but they taste completely different. Zero is almost tasting like real Coke while Light is still tasting like crap, I would have no problems when they would kick this stuff from the market, nobody needs it anymore.

I read somewhere that girls/women still prefer Coke Light while boys/men prefer Coke Zero. It is correct, at least when it comes to myself.

So do I.

I forgot to mention that I don't drink those fancy Coke variants. Though I do like products such as Canada Dry Ginger Ale, which belongs to the Coca Cola Company. However I don't drink Fanta. You complain about the sugar in a Coke, well Fanta is even worse. The only Coke I'll drink is Coca Cola Classic. Nothing beats the original.  bigthumbsup

I wonder though, how a Coke must have tasted when it still had Cocaine in it.
