British Police And Intel: Aces In My Book

Fri Aug 11, 2006 12:59 am

Today's news about the terror plot foiled by British Police and Intelligence prompts me to just write and express our collective thanks that they are as good as they are. Plots like these are complex, shrouded, and vague. To arrest 21 people means they had to let the plot percolate awhile...to learn all the players AND where and when to find them.

As an American citizen, I want to thank the British intelligence community and the police for a great job done. Bravo!

Now, I'm going to see whether you can successfully wash your hair with powdered soap.

We may be a small nation but (IMHO) we more than punch above our weight in terms of intelligence and military operations and I feel we compliment the US well, both the US and UK bring their own strenghts and it makes a good partnership in my view.

Very good thread and my congratulations also to British intelligence, and the apparently excellent work carried out so far today by the BAA and British police. Well done.
Also my deempest sympathies to both the British and the Americans who seemed to be the main target. Let's not let these bast**ds win by installing even further fear and paranoia in us.
Long live Aer Lingus!

MI5 / MI6 have always been great organisations, and have foiled many plots in the past.

Yes I know they missed the london bombing but lets not go into that.....
