What Do Jackie Mason And ZZ Top Have In Common?

Mon Aug 14, 2006 7:46 am

Answer: They're both on the following list of conservative celebrities.

Yes, indeedy -- I did say "conservative" celebrities.

Is your favorite celebrity on the list?

Whether or not it's described in his listing, did you know, for example, that film star Gary Sinise has criticized media coverage of Iraq for being too negative? In addition, he's spent his own money providing assistance to children in Iraq.

Conservatism may be on the rise in Hollywood. Who knows? Stranger things have happened.

Yes I did. I really do like him as an actor and it's nice to know not everyone in Hollyweird is like Alec Baldwin.

LOL. That's true.  Smile

I think Sinise is a great actor, too. I liked his performance in Forrest Gump, for example.

I've seen suggestions that he should play the character of Dr. McCoy if the next Star Trek movie involves the original crew. I hope so!

I found it interesting that this website is reeeaaaaaalllllllllyyyyyyyy stretching for names. Many of the celebrities they listed on there were only on that list because they may have said a good word for the troops, or did a show for them, or performed at a presidential concert, none of which actually indicates a right wing radical conservative. Many liberals have come out in support of the troops but want their idiot leaders to get them the f*ck out of there.

In addition, about 1/5 of the links didn't work, so we have no idea why they drew those names out of a hat. I'd take this website about as seriously as toilet paper.

They both not only annoy me, but they are of limited/useless worth to the cutural and political future of this nation. Mason is a worthless product of the Hollywood/NYC machine, IMO.

Jackie Mason has never said a single funny thing in his lifetime. ZZTop has at least shown a modicum of talent. Unfortunately, that was 33 years ago in in 1973 with Tush.

You neo-con suck-ups need to dig for a clue. Talk about has-been no-talents. Nice of you to lump them in one thread, just so I can avoid most in a single click.

So Gary Oldman is a no-talent has-been? I don't think so.

I didn't bother looking at the list, Aero. I confined my comment to Jackie (no-fucking talent ever-worthless piece of trash) Mason and ZZ Top.

Let's limit my comment to that, as that was what was meant.

Gary Oldman is one of my favorite actors. One of the best actors, an I could care less about his political affiliation. All I care about from them is artistic worth.

Mason has less than none, and ZZ Top has next to none.

Jackie Mason? The man whose life goal is to perpetuate the stereotype of the New York Jew?

He has to lose that fake accent and speech pattern if he's going to convince people that he's a conservative.

You're supposed to haggle!

Let me clarify for now.

This list, although perhaps updated, has been posted before. If your point is that all of Hollywood is not a liberal-kook-fest, I think we all should know that already. They are not all frigging Babs Streisand.

As for Mason, I have seen far too many amateur comedians who blow him out of the water. Jackie Mason is about as funny as an abortion left in a dumpster. How the @#$% he EVER got a paying gig is beyond me.

Same for ZZTop. When I was in downtown Austin, TX for just one night (6th Street), I saw two bands who blew them out of the water. And these bands were not nationally famous.

Bottom line: believe what you want. Art has nothing to do with politcal affiliation. Nor should it.

You have to be Jewish to really like Jackie Mason. I haven't met one goy who enjoys his comedy.

As for Mason, Caddyshack 2 is all the proof we need that he's not very funny at all - to anyone.

Jackie Mason is funny but there are more funny comedians. Look up Russell Peters. An Indo-Canadian guy. Sort of like the Mendis.

Mason used to be a rabbi. He quit to become a comedian. He should have remained a rabbi...

Jackie Mason's strong defense of Mel Gibson was virtually unique. Only a few other show business types in Hollywood or New York have come out in support of Gibson, and I can't think of any who have been more, or even as, strong in their support.

Among Gibson's critics is Rob Schneider, who has said that he now refuses to work with Gibson because of what he has apparently concluded from Gibson's outbursts during his arrest.

Celiberal is really reaching wiht some of the people it lists. They seem to take one quote and attribute liberal/conservative leanings, and quite wrongly with some of these people who may be one issue conservatives...
