Yes, she died of cancer a couple of months ago. I believe she was in her 50's at the time of her death.
Let us hope this is a true story. It was a strange murder, with the parents and some around them suspected of this crime. I wouldn't be surprised if thsie was a neighbor or someone they knew who did this crime. I am quite sure that this will get huge play in the USA media, TV for the next several days, bumping off the recent UK airline terror fears, Iraq war, etc.

Oh, yes... Nancy Grace, Greta VanSusteren, and that woman with the perpetual asthma attack...what's her name...Rita Cosby...are probably dripping wet right now. I have to watch their shows this evening to see who orgasms first.

Having your baby daughter killed in your own home by an unknown assailant would cause rapid aging in anyone.
Perhaps this will end all of the suspicion on Mr. Ramsey and JonBenet's brother.
My thoughts and prayers are with her remaining family. This may end up solving the case, but I'm sure for now it has torn any scab off a still-deep wound.

It's all over the news - check your local station and you're sure to see video clips. He has confessed publicly. He answered the question, "are you an innocent man?", "No." It seems that he is a pedophile.

Something's rotten in Denmark, or in this case, Thailand. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy they have in custody is just some whackjob looking for his 15 minutes. I hope I'm wrong.

What's with the buttoned-up polo shirt and trousers hiked up 4-inches above the naval? Looks a little like Ed Grimley.

I keep going back and forth on it. Did you see the yearbook entry he made to his classmate's yearbook 20 years ago? Elements of the handwriting (the "a" and "t") look the same.

www.rockymountainnews.com

Also, the use of SBTC (although not written in acronym in the yearbook--he said "Shall Be The Conqueror").

This is kind of compelling.

The investigation continues on a different front;

Killer's cell searched for JonBenet link
-
Friday, August 18, 2006

(08-18) 13:23 PDT San Quentin, Calif. (AP) --

Prison guards searched the death row cell of Polly Klaas' killer after learning he may have corresponded with the suspect in the decade-old slaying of JonBenet Ramsey, authorities said Friday.

San Quentin State Prison guards searched Richard Allen Davis' cell Thursday, but not would immediately say what they found. A news conference was planned later in the day.

Davis, 52, was sentenced to death for the 1993 kidnapping and murder of 12-year-old Polly Klaas.

Lt. Eric Messick said officials decided to search Davis' cell after learning that the suspect in the Ramsey murder case, John Mark Karr, 41, had told detectives in 2001 that he had a letter from Davis and was researching a book on him.

"Our reasoning was that if there was evidence of them having this relationship, then it might shed some light on things — it wasn't a far reach," he said. "But I don't think we've found anything so far suggesting there was a nexus between Davis, Karr and JonBenet Ramsey. Obviously Richard Allen Davis was in prison at that time."

Calls to Davis' lawyers Friday were not immediately returned.

Karr told authorities he drugged and sexually assaulted JonBenet, the child beauty queen who was found beaten and strangled in the basement of her family's Colorado home on Dec. 26, 1996. Karr said he killed the 6-year-old girl accidentally.

If this guy killed her I am miss America! Give me a break. He did this to avoid time in a Bankok Prison. Something doesn't make any sense here. I still think the father did it. Curious to see the DNA result.

It seems that this guy may not be the one whom commited this crime. Still, from what we have heard on the news, this guy is a very sick sexual pervert, as likes little girls. I suspect he was in Thailand (and had been there in the past) to be able to have sex with underaged girls which is available there. If they can connect him with those charges, then he could face serious charges in the USA. They he will become someones 'little girl' in jail.

The story just gets more strange with every passing day. The investigator in Thailand now says this guy never said he drugged JonBenet as was previously reported, but he does have intimate details that about the crime scene that were never made public. Yet his ex-wife insists that he was with her and their children on every Christmas in Georgia until they divorced. He also evidently tried to correspond with the Polly Klaas killer. Something seems awfully weird about this whole situation. It will be interesting to see how it develops. It seems, on the face of it, that there may have been some sort of network involved does it not? Maybe this is just the tip of the iceberg. In any case, if you have seen his picture you have to ask yourself if this isn't one of the creepiest men you have ever seen.

Hmmm, I am not certain he is guilty, but I'm not sure I believe his ex-wife 100%.

First, people's memories aren't always accurate, particulary when trying to recall events of 10 years ago.

Second, it is quite possible she is attempting to protect her 3 sons from the devastation and humilitation of knowing their father is JonBenet's killer. Moms will often go to great lengths to protect their kids, and I wouldn't put it past her to provide a reasonable alibi to get the authorities and media off his trail. 'Course now, with all that has been reported, their father is certainly an embarrassment but perhaps Lara thought she would successfully derail this before it got to this point.

Third, it has surfaced that both a John Karr and a Lara Karr --with the "right" ages and number of kids listed -- posted to Usenet groups targeted at young people, in which John Karr targeted "lonely" teens and engaged them in discussions about sex.

It is possible the wife was coerced into his madness back then, perhaps reaching out to young women -- knowingly or unknowingly for John.

Also, it was reported that one of the authorities in Thailand wasn't accurate when he said John picked up JonBenet from school. He said John did not actually say that.

I think there is a whole lot more that needs to be determined, and that the DNA will be a major key to this.

He's three hours into his flight back to the USA on TG794. He's sitting in business class, without handcuffs, drinking champaign, and exchanging toasts with the escorting officer. Kind of VIP for a potential felon.

My SO said the same thing this morning. She thinks the only reason he confessed is to avoid being prosecuted in Thailand and ending up in prison there.

Which leads me to believe all the more that one of, or both parents were involved in the murder, either directly or as an accessory. It's been reported that Karr had contact with Mrs. Ramsey which means it's possible she was the source of Karr's knowledge of non-publicized details about the crime scene.

Something is fishy with the DA's office also: check this article out on www. denverpost.com/jonbenet/ci_4206818. The first couple of paragraphs are posted below:

onbenet
Timing of DA's probe questioned
By Kirk Mitchell
Denver Post Staff Writer

Fundamental steps in the investigation into John Mark Karr's possible involvement in the murder of JonBenet Ramsey didn't really begin until after his arrest.

Though the Boulder County district attorney's office had enough undisclosed evidence to get a judge to order Karr's arrest in Thailand on a first-degree murder count, it was only after the warrant was issued that investigators started asking questions experts say would form the bedrock of a successful homicide prosecution.

Just saw a rerun of Anderson Cooper interviewing Jamie Harmon, an attorney speaking either for or about John Karr. Harmon had apparently spoken recently with Karr. Also interviewed at the time was Patience Van Zandt, who is apparently another one of Karr's (would-be?) lawyers. What struck me was her comment that Karr's value system was merely different from those of others in society and that it wasn't necessarily bad.

Speaking personally, I fail to see how Harmon's comment in this regard can be greeted with anything but derisive laughter. Karr has publicly admitted to not being innocent in connection with JonBenet Ramsey's death. He has had child pornography charges filed against him, and apparently he was fleeing from the law. He's said that he loved JonBenet, and done so in a way that has quite evidently creeped out the majority of anyone who's spoken on television at length on this matter.

Harmon, acting apparently as Karr's defense counsel, is only doing her job. But, it strikes me, what an icky job it must be.

While whatever John Mark Karr may have done to that girl is simply atrocious and disgusting, what I also find disgusting is that John and Patsy Ramsey put their own daughter up for display in beauty pageants. The kid was 6 years old and she's shown to the country like she was some kind of toy for her parents?

Whoever is resposible for JonBenet's death should either fry or be locked up for good. But the parents should also think about what they did to the kid, by making her an object of beauty instead of letting her be a kid.

Update: CNN's on-scene correspondent is repeating a report from KUSA-TV, Denver, Colorado, saying that the DNA found at the JonBenet Ramsey crime scene, apparently from her underwear, does not match Karr's.
