Snakes On A Plane

Thu Aug 17, 2006 7:15 am

I just saw a preview of snakes on a plane. It seems as one of the worst films which has any reality to an airport. Any of you guys gonna watch it?

I have a phobia of snakes so I doubt its my movie. The #1 part is how do so many snakes get on an airplane?

Samuel M. Jackson pimping it on "The Daily Show" last night was a riot.

I admit I am surprised they didn't release this straight to video. With the Internet buzz, every video store in America would have needed 10 copies on the shelf to meet demand and if the studio priced it as a rental ($100 per copy), that would have been billions.

I imagine it won't last a week in the theatres, and the reviews will be so bad even the folks who want to see it will be disuaded if they don't go opening night.  Silly

As many already know, many a.netters are in the middle of filming:
"Gkirk on a Plane" - "A deadly mix of a 2tonne pallet of Tennant's Lager and an unmanned aircraft. Watch as the TERROR is unleashed...."

Watch out for trailer coming soon.....

Looks like a lame movie. I would not go see it even if it was free and someone else paid for my popcorn. Horrible film.

Well...the title is kind of...cool. I think. Right?

Look at it this way: If it wasn't for movies like this, all the good movies wouldn't look so good. What a minute. Yes they would. Scratch my last statement.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure even the production company et al know it's not exactly a quality flick. But you have to admit they did a pretty damn good job of getting the word out there.

I'll probably see it on video. How can you not see a movie with that title???  Smile

Well, some of them are real, either that or David Letterman lied to me.

I don't see why most people here put the movie down so much. The movie isn't supposed to be serious. Its a comedy thriller. Personally I'm going to see it.

The question is which would do WORSE in a theater:

Snakes on a Plane

or the sequel,

Anetters and the Religious Right on a plane.

Actually, the main plot of that movie (if you want to claim there was one) was centered around Danny Noonan, a caddy who worked at the caddyshack of Bushwood CC. The famous fight scene with Danny and DeNunzio where Danny's little brother interfered, leading to Bill Murray's brother coming in and stopping the fight. The caddyshack, where Danny and his g/f snuck behind to have sex - that caddyshack.

Listened to Maxim Radio the other day when all the London terror stuff was occuring, one of the hosts said "what the hell is going on with the planes today?" to which the response was "all flights are delayed because there are snakes on a plane"...they basically make fun of the movie daily, and I think it's probably deserved. I love Samuel L., but come on my man, how bad do you need money these days?

or the sequel,

Actually I heard they are looking at George Lucas to direct the Sequal and it will be titled "Revenge of the Mongoose"

Seriously, I haven't seen the film, but if they shut off the cabin packs, wouldn't the air temperture in the cabin rabidly drop off to a point where the snakes, cold blooded animals would become sluggish and not able to function? Making easy picking for the occupants of the plane to deal with?

Would only take a few minutes in the -50 degree tempertures at cruising altitude.....Of course you wouldn't have movie then.

YES YES YES!!!!!!!

I've just seen it and I have to say.....TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!! biggrin

I lost count of the aviation inaccuracies (there were so many), and for the first time I really don't care! This movie was all I expected it to be and so much more.

Oh, and one more thing. I don't know about the moviegoers in your town, but where I was, the audience was fantastic. They cheered, clapped, etc. for all the exciting moments and the kickass one-liners from Samuel L. Jackson. During the previews, there was a brief problem with the image. It only lasted a couple of seconds, but somebody still yelled "snakes in the projection booth!"  laughing

Good motherf*cking choice, bitch! (Chappelle Show)

Count me in as part of the poor saps who will pay money to go see this movie. I see cult classic potential here, a movie everyone will trash so much, that it will become popular to trash it, and it will get to the point will have an obsession with trashing it, and eventually, appreciate and like it. High cult classic potential.

I have just got back from seeing this movie and all I can say is, it is absolutely hilarious. I would even stick my neck out here and say it's as good as Airplane. Some classic one liners...

Stewardess: "Are you sure you can fly with one hand?"
Captain: "There are lots of things I can do well with one hand."

Steward gets attacked by a snake in the galley and manages to put it in the microwave then turns it on and says "Who's the daddy now you bitch!"

It's brilliant!

It's on board a South Pacific 747 flying from Honolulu to Los Angeles and the first class section was bigger than the rest of the whole plane. It was like the foyer on the Sea Princess!
