Netherlands Antilles Visa Question

Thu Sep 21, 2006 9:56 pm

Okay, I am quite sure I could have found the answer on the internet if only I searched a bit harder. Or I could have called the consulate. Nevertheless, I decided to ask here. So feel free to flame me, but please answer first...  Wink

My wife and me consider spending some days in the Carribean this fall. I am German citizen, my wife has a Kazakhstan passport with a German permanent residence permit.

So the question is: does she need a Visa for the Netherlands Antilles? My guess would be: no, as she can travel freely within the Schengen states. But does that include the overseas colonies of our Dutch neighbours?

Oh, and yes, it could well be St. Maarten...  cloudnine

Great site, thanks Westy! All other sites I knew were only taking the nationality into consideration. Looks indeed like all we need to observe is showing enough cash - do they really expect us to carry $150 per day in cash, or will "my flexible golden friend" be enough to convince them? Big grin

Just checked hotels, and now I tend more towards Aruba. Does anyone have recommendations in that area?

I stayed at the Paradise Beach Villas for the past 2 years. My grandparents have gone there for the past 15-20. Its a great little resort. Private beach, two pools, cool bar and small cafe as well. Idk if you are one for activities, but there isnt much here. But I sill enjoyed at as there is plenty to do around aruba anyways.
Doors open, right hand side, next stop is Springfield.
