Firstly, I didnt bother to watch the video, life in the bush doesnt permit streaming online video just yet. Maybe in another 20 years or so. But that is besides the point.
Although I do agree that America is not what is wrong with the world, because America is a non-living entity, it is people that make America good or bad, but I certainly agree that there are worse places, governments, and people out there, we are by no means perfect. But this administration is leaving a bruise on the world that will be left long after they are out of office.
I have lined up to bash Rumsfeld myself many times, but ultimately Rumsfelds failings are Bush's fault. I firmly any good leader does the following two things, A. Admits thier mistakes, and B. works to correct those mistakes.
This whole business of stay the course, trust us victory is right around the corner is simply BS
. Rumsfeld met with some family members of the 172nd Stryker Brigade based here in AK
, they had been stationed in Mosul, and by all accounts have performed valiantly, there reward for this was an extended deployment to Baghdad, now I am fine with that, I am proud of the work they have done, they have had quite a few casualties, but point being, Rumsfeld was very smug with the family members, saying that he cannot see a single reason why the wives, mothers, and children of these soldiers would be upset with him. Wrong answer Rummy, even if you dont believe they have a good reason, they are upset with you, dont throw thier anger at you away. What a way to shatter morale, both for the families and especially the soldiers fighting. There is no accountability with this administration, I have lost faith in the leadership from the top down.
