Your correspondent is quite correct. Other decriptions, in addition to "the bee's knees", could include "the dog's bollocks" or "the mutt's nuts".

I've used it (albeit briefly) in the past and have only good things to say about it. I've never really had the time to properly familiarise myself with the Linux environment, but from what I've seen it's a nice OS.
