New South Park...

Thu Oct 05, 2006 2:43 pm

Well, loyal fans, what did you think??? I thought it was great, way better than any of the other crap from the first half in the spring (except for "Tsst")...I'm not even a gamer and I thought it was hilarious...Im sure if I played Warcraft there'd be a lot more that was funny too...

Did anyone else think that when Stan said "you killed my father" at the end, that it was going to be a spoof of "The Princess Bride" where he'd say something like "You killed my father, prepare to e-die!" or somethin like that?

Overall, so far, 2nd half of Season 10 is off to a great start!!

Just finished watching it, loved it. I'd been dissapointed with the batch in the spring, so this restored my faith. We'll see if they keep it up.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty good! The kids looked outrageously funny during the 2nd half of the show where they were on Warcraft nonstop...

And the part where Cartman takes a dump into that pan his mom is holding... That crap (no pun intended) was hilarious!

This was the first new South Park I've seen in a long, long time, and it was f*cking hilarious! Could not stop laughing through most of it.

Dude, I thought exactly that!

Southpark is the only show on T.V that makes me laugh out loud that's why I'll always watch it. First half I thought was great especially the tsst episode. Last night I couldn't stop laughing and the funniest part was when the 4 kids lined up and were walking in slow motion about to slaughter the hogs. It was so stupid yet so funny!! Overall I thought it was great can't wait for the next one.

I love South Park, but I didn't think the new episode was funny at all.
Maybe cause I have never played that game, nor has any of my friends.

I think thats why I enjoyed it so much. I don't play video games, but completely caught the satire. And besides, substitute World-of-Warcraft with Airliners.Net, and that guy with "absolutely no life" could be any number of posters on here!  Wink

Great episode. The episode pretty much sums up my 2 roommates this summer. Thats all they did was play that game. And sleep occasionally. Keep it comming.

I'm not a gamer, but I loved it. Just the part of having the kid's voices coming from the characters in the game was very funny.

And when the father didn't know what key to press to hand over the magic sword ... Hilarious. Big grin

"No artard (sp?), it's an MMORBG, these are real people i'm playing with. See, i'm a hunter, level 2. I can chat with all these other people. I can even wave to this guy, see... Hello!"

I swear, as stupid as that last part was, I was laughing so damn hard.

Some other good lines are...

Butters: I don't play world of warcraft
Cartman: Butters you said you're on your computer all the time
Butters: Yeah, but i'm playing "Hello Kitty: I'm an adventure"
Cartman: Butters, go buy world of warcraft, install it on your computer and join the online sensation, before we all murder you.
Butters: Oh oh allright then.

...and then butters goes into the game as the same character as Cartman. Too funny.

Oh, How I love South Park ever so dearly!

Ironically, a lot of us A.netters fly online with FS2004 and VATSIM, so we're almost just like them!

I'm almost becoming a nerd like that... this girl I was talking to on the phone earlier said, "Alex, are you playing your dorky airplane game again?" I told her, "It's not a GAME, it's a SIMULATOR... there's a difference."

Similar to that scene in the show...

True. When they showed the generic gamer playing, I figured thats what many of the anet guys look like.

I usually dont like South Park, but a couple of friends that used to play Everquest with me back in the day called me last night to watch it and we all thought it was hilarious. Definitely the most ive laughed at south park in a long, long time...it was certainly alot better for those of us who've seen that world...it is incredibly addicting lol.

my roommates were watching that episode yesterday they thought it was hilarious. I came in with about 5 minutes left and thought that part was funny. I did like the part where it shows them playing warcraft non-stop and they are covered in zits and quite fat. I need to watch the entire episode though...

Check out the episode analysis on Wikipedia. It was apparently written by somebody who has no life. ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Make_Love%2C_Not_Warcraft

Here's a typical quote:

Quote:
"Butters says that there are only four races. This is only partially correct; while there are four races on the Alliance side (and presumably he would be forced to pick one of these in order to play with his friends), there are also four races on the Horde side. In fact no orcs, tauren, undead, or troll players were seen in the episode."
Some people really take this stuff seriously. ?

This was funnier than the first half of the season, but then again so is American Dad.

Well, I finally had a chance to watch it. (It was downloading when I made my first post.) I wasn't too pleased with it. The crap in the urinal part was pretty funny at first, but got too repetive. The 9/11 conspiracy storyline was just plain stupid.

Last night's episode might well have been the one that saves the season, that was by far f*cking brilliant!

"mmmmkay you think it's funny that...that someone would walk up to a niiiice, clean unsuspecting toilet mmmmkay 'n' 'n' turn around mkay pull down their paints ... maybe spread their butcheeks apart with their hands mmkay and plant a nice chocolate hot dog right on the toilet seat? You think that's funny?!"

It was the first 9/11 conspiracy theory that actually made sense. That was the joke. And the other joke is that the cartoon Bush is more intelligent and articulate than the real Bush. Plus seeing Chaney wearing his hunting outfit in the Whitehouse and carrying a shotgun was funny.

Thanks for the explanation, but already understood the jokes, and didn't find them THAT funny. Perhaps it was the Canadian in me?
