ALCS: Motor City Kitties On Verge Of World Series

Sat Oct 14, 2006 9:28 am

The Tigers are up 3-0, after shutting out the A's, 3-0 today in chilly D-Town.

What an amazing run they've had since looking totally outclassed in game one against The Bombers.

I gotta root for the Tigers to win it all now.

I fine it's hard to believe that the series in 3-0. Games 1 and 3 both teams had excellent pitched games, but the Tigers had better pitching and pitching is what wins games at this time of year. I would say the series is over, but the Tigers did lose three in a row at the end of the season to the Royals, so I suppose anything is still possible, but go Tigers. On another note if the Tigers and Mets make the World Series it could be a very cold one, (Cleveland 1997) for the fans to endure.

And the commentators in the pregame against the Yankmees in game 2 said the Tigers didn't have a chance. Shame on them.

A Tigers game was a good way to blow off a reserve day when I knew I wouldn't be grabbed by scheduling. Now I won't be able to get a ticket next season. Comerica Park was fun while they sucked. Sitting reserve in Detroit will be really boring next year. No where to go.

You want one of mine? Lol. You're supposed to buy the hat of the shittiest team in baseball, so when they start winning you don't like a bandwagon fan.

They had the bes record in the league for a while until they hit a slump in mid season. Looks like they've shown they can go to the big dance.

Look, David, there's absolutely nothing wrong with rooting for a team that has been down and out since the mid-80s. It's not a bandwagon thang. It's respect for baseball and for a team that deserves it. I'm rooting for the Tigers, but I'm not on the bandwagon, I'm just happy to see baseball have a new legion of fans who can actually root for a winner. When one's team is out of it, your post suggests we cannot root for another to fare well. That's not at all fair.

Major difference, my friend.

Certainly not. I have no problem with anyone hoping the Tigers win it all. But buying a hat? That's where I tend to draw the line.

Point well taken. I'll never own a Tiger's hat.
