Undefeated College Football Thread

Sun Oct 15, 2006 12:49 pm

Alright, it's Saturday, I'm bored, and all the NCAA football games are done, so I figure I'd make a short list of the undefeated teams.

As of this moment, there are 7 undefeated teams left (3 Big East, 2 Big 10, 1 Pac-10, 1 WAC) the teams and their remaining schedules are:

#1 Ohio State

Sat, Oct 21 Indiana
Sat, Oct 28 Minnesota
Sat, Nov 4 at Illinois
Sat, Nov 11 at Northwestern
Sat, Nov 18 (4) Michigan

#3 USC

Sat, Oct 28 at Oregon State
Sat, Nov 4 at Stanford
Sat, Nov 11 (18) Oregon
Sat, Nov 18 (10) California
Sat, Nov 25 (9) Notre Dame
Sat, Dec 2 at UCLA

#4 Michigan

Sat, Oct 21 (15) Iowa

Sat, Nov 18 at (1) Ohio State

#5 West Virginia

Thu, Nov 2 at (7) Louisville
Sat, Nov 11 Cincinnati
Thu, Nov 16 at Pittsburgh
Sat, Nov 25 South Florida
Sat, Dec 2 (24) Rutgers

#7 Louisville

Sat, Oct 21 at Syracuse
Thu, Nov 2 (5) West Virginia

#20 Boise State

Sat, Oct 21 at Idaho
Wed, Nov 1 Fresno State
Sat, Nov 11 at San Jose State
Sat, Nov 18 Utah State
Sat, Nov 25 at Nevada

#24 Rutgers (Where the hell did they come from?)

Sun, Oct 15 at New Mexico State
Sat, Oct 21 at Idaho
Wed, Nov 1 Fresno State
Sat, Nov 11 at San Jose State

So, what do you all think of these teams?
Well I believe it all is coming to an end. Oh well, I guess we are gonna pretend.

A blue light special from K-Mart in New Jersey perhaps.

Doubtful the way the played tonight and the past two weeks that they will be able to run the table. Possible two losses here. If they do win out, then they need serious consideration for the national championship game.

Michigan matchup with Ball State should be a thriller. Ohio State should remain undefeated until the Michigan game. Can't speak for Big East football, which has been the weakest big time conference over the past couple of years. Boise State always has problems with both Nevada and Fresno, but being a WAC team, no respect anyways.
Right now as of 2100hrs MST, my guess if USC wins out, it will be USC and Ohio State in Glendale on January 8th.

Setting up nicely for Nov 18. Might be #1 vs. #2 by then... only realistic stumbling block would be Michigan @ Iowa next week.

#3 USC

They just won't die, but they've been playing with fire an awful lot this season. I don't know if they can keep ducking and weaving past the rest of the Pac-10 schedule.

#5 West Virginia
#7 Louisville
#24 Rutgers (Where the hell did they come from?)

All three could have a loss come December 3rd... I still question Rutgers' quality of competition though. WVU at Louisville might be a game of the year candidate.

Three Big East teams undefeated.... where's the ACC again?  bouncy

They'll be 12-0 when all is said and done... best team in that conference by far.
I'll rassle ya for a bowl of bacon!

well, USC got lucky tonight, but they certainly will not end the season undefeated. I see them going 9-3, with three straight consecutive losses to Oregon, California, and, of course, us  Big grin
Whoever said winning is not everything never fought cancer.
